@Amarvera. All performers are nervous in contests such as this and in many other performance situations. Some are able to conceal it better than others. This young Spanish maestro draws you into his musical universe to experience these beautiful sounds for the very first time. It seems that Chopin wrote the 3rd movement with a deliberate Hispanic feel (with col legno violins imitating castanets) brought to life here with fiery authenticity by the one and only MGG. I don’t care who wins. Like other reality talent shows, many fine musicians have already been kicked to the curb.
@fernandograu6677
@fernandograu6677 3 жыл бұрын
I also heard the castañuelas sounding violins on the 3rd movement!! and if it was indeed intentional from Chopin, then this is the first time I realize this, after having listened to this concert hundreds of times before... "MGG" really added life to this concerto isn't it?

@@ekorniluk unfortunately yes he makes awful faces. As does the Italian girl with very long dark hair, and also gazing heaven-ward. I do SO wish teachers and parents would make their pupils/children stop these facial antics, body antics, throwing arms up in the air after a big chord etc etc. It’s just histrionics and SO un-necessary. @@margaretlavender9647 I'm surprised to see your comment and three people agreeing. I think the times of playing like Rubinstein have passed. I believe newer generations appreciate this type of surrender to the music (like the comments show) rather than the stoic, almost statue-like, interpretations of the past. In any case, asking for "all" the interpreters to "stop" doing it, is a little over the top, don't you think?

This is the art of playing which goes back to the era of great pianists like Horowitz... And all this with such a technical perfection and control that serves music. This is what Chopin should sound! Google translate says you wrote: "The beauty of 2 movements! !! !! This soft sound in front of the orchestra ... I listened to No. 2 so repeatedly that I had never heard it repeatedly. Thank you for your wonderful performance." We sometimes speak of an "eye opener" so this was an "ear opener"

Pianiści,przygotowując się do konkursu ,studiują życiorys Chopina i historię Polski z okresu,w którym tworzył,badają wszelkie okoliczności z nim związane. Największa przeszkoda, trudność Wyzwanie ,to ,"rozgryzienie" mazurkow, oberków, kujawiakow,krakowiaków. No to naprawdę jest trudne dla obcokrajowców. Garcia zdumial mnie swoją wypowiedzią,że w mazurkach odnalazł podobieństwa z muzyką hiszpańską. Chyba wie ,co mówi.

@@trifonovfan9819 I believe Cho played the Concerto in E minor, so it’s not really a fair comparison. However, I do enjoy both of theirs a whole lot, perhaps Cho is just a teensy weensy bit better for me. However, no doubt Garcia Garcia had played beautifully and from the soul.
