I love these kinds of videos. Sample chopping is still something that I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing and I just pick random start and stop points with no real rhyme or reason and hope it works. I love seeing other people's workflows amd concentration faces.

Excellent and some cool retro sounds ! Plus you’re way better than me getting samples into Logic lol - kudos

The Force makes it easy thankfully - I just export the stems! With the MPC 2500 I multi-track record out with them MIDI synched. I still default to mixing in Logic no matter what I create with. :D Thanks for watching!

good old SU700, i loved it, but the potentiometers are pain in the ass, had to replace mine 3 times and they kept giving up. very unfortunate. it´s such a cool device

They are. Mine are fine, but I know it's just a matter of time. One of the pots on my Yamaha A3000 has gone wonky and it's a real pain.

You need to select one of the banks then use the sampling start button on the top right. Select the various options and hold down the button for as long as you want to capture audio... From memory that's the rough process anyway!
@Qilowhat5 ай бұрын
@@StephenMcLeod damn I’m thinking my sampling button might be shot too then. I’m on the main screen, and my sample button just doesn’t work. Does nothing. The resample screen will start up but same thing when I press start on the sample button no recording happens
@StephenMcLeod5 ай бұрын
@Qilowhat you need to set the bit rate etc first before it will start. It can be confusing. I would test it to confirm but I won't be back with mine for a while!

I think the algo is punishing you for switching subjects. Maybe consider starting a second channel for the video content. I had to search for you and am catching up on the last month or so now.
@StephenMcLeod9 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yer probably right, though I'm honestly not too bothered. The prospect of having to maintain two channels is more effort than it's worth. I really just view KZbin as a creative outlet, and don't want to fall too far down the rabbit hole of second guessing the algorithm. Down that path lies madness!!
