Also every single middle class and rich person in India has toilets in their homes and apartments lol sometimes multiple. Rule of thumb to anyone that is going to India, never eat a salad or anything uncooked in India. You are gonna pay for it dearly. No raw onions, tomatoes, cucumbers as you are allowing that bacteria to enter your body. As a food safety inspection officer all I can add to this comment and don’t mean to insult the Indian culture or the Indian people but I’ve been to several Indian food restaurants in California due to reports of food poisoning , customers finding hairs in their food orders , food having foul smells. When me and my partner went to do a surprise inspection on each of the establishments you wouldn’t believe how disgusting those kitchens were, rotten food inside fridges, the floors were dirty , the pots were being used over and over again without washing, vegetables weren’t being properly washed either, the oil where they cooked was being reused it was already black, they were no gloves in any of those restaurants to handle food orders… they were dirtier than the Chinese kitchens we have been to due to sickness reports so in conclusión when it comes to Indian cuisine, is not the food , it’s the people who prepare it that they were never tough hygiene and food safety when it came to cooking. Interviewing some of them said they were street food vendors in India . I love Indian food but I prepare it myself, I don’t trust their food safety standards at all . They all have strong inmune systems because they are used to all of that so they don’t get sick . I don’t want to think how things are at their home , when it comes to food. And again I’ve met a lot of Indian people and they are really warm loving and caring and their homes are clean and their food is great . So I’m not speaking in general , all of my respect to them but when it comes to food safety I’d rather not eat at any restaurant.

You watch how he cuts the food with the knife in 1 hand and the food in the other chopping the food over the bowl, terrible food safety practice. I think there are precautions you can definitely take but still you have to accept it’s always a chance when traveling because we are sensitive to bugs and bacterias that don’t affect locals. It happened to me in Rome eating from a nice enough restaurant. I’ve also been to El Salvador a couple times. The first time I got deadly ill so the second time I took my own food and was fine until the very last day when I went to a big dinner with many people. Sure enough I spent more time in the airplane bathroom than in my passenger seat on the flight home. I just mention this so people accept that it can happen when traveling and just be sick, recover, and then continue your adventure!

i am indian and i have never been sick eating any kind of street food in india in my life. nor does anyone i know ever had diarrhea or food poisoning from bad food here. food in india is safe fresh and clean. however, i've had life threatening food poisoning, diarrhea, vomiting in united states, singapore, and japan several times from unclean food. in my opinion the food quality in those country is much poorer. in india even though we do not have nice looking shops every thing is fresh. in western country the food is processed, and many of those proccess is unclean.

People should not complain if they get food poisoning after eating Indian food. Anyone with eyes can see how dirty and unhygienic Indian food is. So if anyone wants to risk going to hospital by eating Indian food, then don’t complain.

Indian keyboard warrior: "ooh noo, bro, that must be bangladesh !" Or " it's in the bad part of the country where ignorant people live ..." Our food in india is excellent and hygienic. Nobody gets diarrhea from indian food. Our streetfood vendors are trained to be extremely hygienic , much more so than in western countries !!! How dare you comment on my country which you don't know anything about... India is the richest, most advanced country in the world!! Hahahahahaha......

That's the mistake foreigners do. Don't go to sketchy street food stalls where no-one is. They r for extremely poor people who don't have money to buy food. What did u expect when u went to slums there lol? That's not a city. People don't have much in slums. Go to crowded ones. And don't eat THAT much street food. Even indians can't handle that much in one day.

Omg you poor thing ! It seemed that he did cross contaminate the ingredients that he touched with his hands, I wished they would wear gloves 🧤 to be honest 😔 I love Indian food, and I’d love to visit but I’m afraid of becoming sick also.

I think the dead giveaway was the man not wearing a shirt. I understand India can be hot but if you look at chefs in hotels surrounded by pots with steam and many burners of fire going they are all dressed in their whites. He did then put on his shirt but it was too late even though Luke told him it's okay.

I frequently go to Hyderabad in India. My wife and daughter lives there. My wife is very cautious with what I eat over there. I've never been sick but I usually get the opposite effect and get constipated. I guess that's from an overload of rice I ate daily. Great video..

For all the guyz giving hate about india......this type of unhygienic street food is not all over india...the most popular cities here have the most unhygienic street vendors...but it is not like this all over india...tourists come here and visit places like mumbai delhi kolkata which i believe have the most unhygienic street vendors which set up a bad image on foreigners.....don't hate guyz india is very beautiful country with lots of flavour

I don't know...the video is so sad. I felt sad watching it. Felt sad about your bad experience and bad about the person who made and sold the food to you, I swear the person was doing his work and did it with all good intentions, his intentions of serving you and even making a good presentation of his food - he probably went home that day saying that a foreigner ate his food and was clicking pictures and videos. I really felt bad about it. I have seen so many videos about Indian food and I'm so much curious to go there and taste it.
@chopsticktravel6 жыл бұрын
The purpose of this video was not to portray the vendor in a negative way. It was to show that it can be easy to eat street food that can cause people to get sick. I feel bad for him too because he was so friendly and actually taught us a lot about the different ingredients he uses. We love India and the food. I think this shouldn't discourage people like yourself from not going to try the foods. Just a reminder to be careful :)

Women have to be careful and cautious..no matter which country...1.ideal timings for solo woman traveller is 7am to 7.30pm.. dawn to dusk in India..2.no night adventures 3. get 4g internet as soon as you land..such that you could Google for anything you want...4.get your antibiotics beforehand..incase you fall sick 5.if you feel people are staring at you..then just smile nd say namaste... people stare here mostly because of curiosity nd not to trouble you or any evil intentions mostly 6.women travellers carry a scarf or a shawl..u might need it in some conservative or religious places 7.to counter the spicy food here..you can have lot of yougurt..which is good for your health nd gut 8.to revitalize your energy..you can frequently have sugarcane juice, buttermilk..nd glucon-d( you get it in chemist/ medical shop )9.take uber or ola cab for travelling..but don't be so careless that you fall asleep in it 10.advisable not to drink or smoke publicly or any PDA 11.do not consume soft drinks or food offered by strangers..they could be vultures in disguise 12.you could ask educated indian women or girl students for any help or advice.. preferably 13.do not go to small lanes or places were no women is there..14.in metro cities there are women taxi..incase you need..15.there are Big bazaar supermarkets in most of the cities..which is a indian version of walmart 16.Basically you cannot stereotype India..you find every range nd diversity here.. poverty to super rich...Street food to five star hotels..filth to clean nd greenery nd calm places..17.india has conservative places were women are fully covered i.e sarees to modern cities like Delhi..Mumbai.. Bangalore..hyderabad..kolkata...were you find women are in jeans..skirts..modern clothing 18.welcome to India..just don't panic.. come with no expectations.. explore yourself..there is fun in chaos here😁😀 19.if you find Street dog here..just walk far from it and don't give an eye contact..and you would be fine 20.at religious places nd temples you will find holy cows..monkeys..just be far..and you would be fine 21.to reduce culture shock and to get acclimatized best to first visit Mumbai then south India then finally to North India 22. Best route could be Mumbai to Goa to Kerela to Bangalore to Hyderabad to Delhi..Agra..mathura...Jaipur.. Lucknow..Varanasi...23. India has two types of toilets..one is indian toilet..where you need to squat..it is good for bowel movement nd people suffering from constipation 😊 and the other type is western toilet where you can sit and surf on your phone 24. Hinduism is a major religion in India..along with many other religious practices..Muslims..Christians..Jews..Buddhists..Jain's..Sikhs..25.in India major languages are English and Hindi..and many local languages..26.most of the times you don't have to Google translate in India because most of the people speak English with understandable indian accent 27.install your Google maps in the phone for hotel and restaurant location and reviews...28.incase you travel in a tuktuk vehicle for transportation..do not fight or argue or giggle at them...because they are as such frustrated with their struggle for existence...and have very less patience for arguments 29.try not to argue with lower strata people for petty things..am saying because some tourist do🙄 30. When in Rome..be like a Romans...31.india is not what media/ news channels portraits as slums..dirty..filthy..full of poverty..rapes...you will know India ..only when you visit..32.have yakult probiotic drink,amul buttermilk,Amul yougurt, sugarcane juice,coconut water,bananas to avoid upset stomach..

@ana siera Only Mexicans can manage to make fatty dishes tasteless, offensive-smelling and gross looking all at once. Not only is Mexican food unimaginative (60% of the food can be described as some sort of pudding on top of a tortilla. You want it folded? You got a burrito, fried? You got a taco... Got the idea? ), it's also really really really bad for your health, (notice how Mexicans are the fattest nation in the world? )...bullshit toppings on the tacos...hahahahha

Eating street food in India, rule number 1. Drinking water source or any food they use which has mixed with water eg. vel puri they use sauce avoid that, 2. Even bottled water in India is not safe, careful where you buy your water, 3. Hygiene issues- only go to popular street food stalls, you know what i mean , most Indian use hand to wipe after using bathroom
