Heck yeah! My level of fandom went up 1000% when I started hearing stuff like that surrounding these guys. There's so much backstory on each member and they all seem so damn cool! They each have their own little "world" and then they come together and create some of the best music ever written/recorded. It really is like the complete package: there's music, art, lyrics/poetry, and visual distractions unlike anything we've ever seen. I'm a MASSIVE Tool fan and have been since the '90s. "There's everyone else, and then there's Tool." : )

All but 3 songs are in drop D. Parabol/Parabola and Prison Sex are drop B, The hidden track Maynards Sick off the Savival box set is standard, and interestingly enough played with an acoustic. If anyone finds I've missed one please correct me. If I did miss one i'm not aware of it's existence.

Love your lesson, thanks for the vid! :) could you please tell me whats the name of this device your using for sustain at 11:20?
@LateNightLessons5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The device you've asked about is called an EBow and you can usually find them for around $100 (or less). I have to admit, EBow's are REALLY cool and one of the funnest effect devices you can experiment with - and it's cheaper than most effect pedals these days. They've also been featured in hundreds of songs/recordings - from artists such as Pink Floyd, U2, Collective Soul, and MANY others. Once you own one and start playing with it, when you listen to the radio or albums you'll start hearing the EBow seemingly EVERYWHERE. Sometimes it's buried in the mix or barely audible, while other times it's mixed loud and obvious in the mix. Thanks for watching and take care!

@@LateNightLessons thanks for comprehensive answer, and once again - great video and tips! Correct me if Im wrong but can I also generate a feedback sound from the beginning of tool - sober with EBow?
