I just have to say as sincerely as I can friend. That you have been so inspiring to me as a musician to look beyond my boundries. I have been for what of a better term a handyman musician my whole life. Playing many instruments equally within an even standard without ever pushing myself. My main instrument always being my voice. which has always been my source of confidence. But over the last few months I have realized that my soul of creativity has not been of my voice but of the DNA which I was birthed into. So now, because of your beautiful inspiration, I am going to embark on creating music from my soul and no longer from my talent. I just wanted to say thank you. You're the musical Dad I never had.

I think to increase the dynamic range you shouldve thrown in a 60 second solo in the middle that was uplifting and slightly louder and very slightly faster, maybe another 15bpm, and then bring it back down. I definitely would like to here something like that from you in the future.

I was looking for a final video before bed and digging thru your back catalog to find this perfect gem. It was so perfect for today. Today marks 4 years since my fiancé suddenly passed away one morning. I lived a nightmare for almost 3 years after her loss. But I recently got the help I needed to combat the PTSD that was keeping me up at night, following every move thru my day, making me live the horror constantly in the back of my mind and sometimes not in the back. Remembering the loss on the anniversary is different this year. The grief is there. The deep pain is there. But the suffering is gone. I can grieve in peace now. That is what this song sounds like to me. Thank you for sharing this song, Bill, and for all that you share with us.

IMHO it will be much useful to create soft string attack with POG2 fot thiss style of playing lead line. What do you think?
@chordsoforion
@chordsoforion 7 жыл бұрын
I generally prefer to use a volume pedal over an envelope filter, as I can vary the attack and release of each note. But certainly, you can get some great envelope effects with the POG2.

Bill, love the hat! But the eBow... Yes! Now THAT'S what I'm talking about. I can afford that tool. So cool. By the way, I was chatting with a gear tech at Sweetwater, and he suggested that the Electro-Harmonix FREEZE pedal might could solve my drone problem since it's more in my budget that most of the gear you suggest. What do you think? Anyway, the meditation is utterly AMAZING!!!

I love your baritone guitar, a great instrument in this context. Is it a USA ? What gauge strings do you use ?. Do you ever do sound on sound with your delay and volume pedal only ? ( chord pad + independent melody work on top ) love your work, cheers
@chordsoforion
@chordsoforion 7 жыл бұрын
The Tele Baritone is a Mexican Fender. The strings are the Elixir electric baritone set - 12-68. Hmmm. I guess I would consider this video Sound on Sound (essentially that is what Frippertronics is) and I am doing independent melody work in this piece. For example 2:30 and following. Let me know if that is what you mean.

My connection is fine, the problem is actually in the audio. Here's the spectrum of the first 40 seconds, the clicks are visible as vertical lines. drive.google.com/open?id=0B9a1PCl16uwrUGRqZ1JId21WUnc
@chordsoforion
@chordsoforion 7 жыл бұрын
I stand corrected. The clicks are actually in the performance audio recording itself. I went back to the original WAV file from the recording session. Not sure how I missed this. I tried the Izotope RX de-clicker plugin and sure enough it picked up and isolated the clicks. Hmmm. This might be worth uploading a corrected version. Definitely will de-click the audio if I release it anywhere else. Thanks for the sharp ears and feedback!! As a thanks (if you are interested), send me a private message here on KZbin with your email address and I'll send you a free download code for my album "Nightfall".

Your comment just made me chuckle. I REALLY want to get a Strat! :-) But - the Tele baritone is pretty great...
@SoundAuthor
@SoundAuthor 7 жыл бұрын
I've always preferred the feel of a Tele. I always block or deck the trem on a Strat for no other reason than I can't afford a good trem, and the cheap factory mechanisms tend to cause all kinds of tuning issues, so I just avoid trems altogether. Even the most expensive, professional trem setups will nock your tuning out of whack. Nope. I like hardtail guitars with neck/bridge pickups that let me play more and tune less :)
