True, always a good reminder to credit the appropriate artist! The way you phrased it however sounded like a "well, actually" moment instead of an informative clarification. If that's the case, I'd point out that Lovecraftian is the genre title and not indicative of the author. If that WASN'T your intent then I'm being passive aggressive into the void of the interwebs for no good reason and look like an ass. I'm probably being an ass.

I really like the fact that it's established from the start that the protagnist has mental issues to start with: a little bonus to dealing with terrifying weirdness but also unpredictable freaking out about things most have no problem with, like "going outside". No whining about a start in medias res from me, though I'd like to see this guy sculpt in his periods of trapped downtime/relative lucidity...what he thinks he's sculpting and how it eventually turns into another horror...

@DrPippyАй бұрын
@@AlphaBetaGamer I can't help but feel like the voice actor might need better direction too if he has any at all. While I'm impressed at how he conveys shock how he acts feels like he's been shoved in a situation he's unaware of not just in the game but in real life. He's capable of pulling a 10 (complete manic breakdown) but maintains that when there are situations where it feels like he should start off at a 5 (uneasiness and creeping dread) and sort of ramp up as the situation escalates. Not that seeing someone with no eyes wouldn't be shocking but there are aspects about it that just feel jarring
@had_fun_onceАй бұрын
The King in Yellow is the hot new trend in quite a few horror spaces because of its connection to Lovecraftian horror, and tangentially, the "Isle of the Dead" painting. Honestly, I've read it myself (for anyone else interested, it's free to read on Project Gutenberg) and found it underwhelming. People should just stick to Lovecraft as their main inspiration.
@DrPippyАй бұрын
@@had_fun_once I also read it and thought it floundered a very strong concept with just kind of being boring and underwhelming. Like a Twilight Zone anthology full of half drafted episodes also I don't think it's due to Lovecraft relation and moreso due to the popularity of the game SIGNALIS
