God forbid the internet ever goes down. At least it will make a good door stop. Lol, Good video Erik but i will stick with my Tecsun PL660
@vitogriffin89024 күн бұрын
It's not an "either or" proposition; people can have both. This radio is a completely different piece of equipment than the 660 or any other short wave radio. What about every time the Internet doesn't go down, does the 660 do what this radio does? Would you extend that logic to your other appliances? If the power goes out then everything plugged into an outlet is a doorstop, so we should just avoid electric appliances and tools altogether... Not an extremely intelligent position to take.

Your missing out. Really. Please please please, at least take a visit to shoutcast and search for some things that interest you. After a few hours you'll get it.

Back on 2004, I remember buying an Internet Radio, Cisco-Linksys Wireless-B Music System WMLS11B at Circuit City Store, Allentown, PA. I was so excited with this radio using it every day at the back yard, basement, computer room, even when meeting with friends, always bringing it and they love it. Fun times!

Erik, nifty wifi internet radio with a beautiful design and superior sound for its size. On the con side the microphone search feature is a bit hinky and I wish you could search using letters like you can on Ocean Digital Radios. The server it connects to is a little slow loading stations at times and sometimes stations I can get on another internet radio will not play on this one. All that said battery life is terrific and I enjoy listening to my old time radio shows. I was fortunate to snag this from Radioddity at 50% off average retail and have had it bedside ever since. Thanks for the review!

Yes, that's because the speech engine we are currently using isn't smart enough. The next version will switch to Google's, and you'll have a different experience then.

It's a cool radio. I'm glad you covered it after the pandemonium over your video of the other one .... I see that some people still aren't grasping the concept of having different devices that do similar but different things. I wonder if when people were first getting introduced to home computers they said they'd prefer to just keep their television set because home computers didn't pick up their favorite TV station...
@FarpointFarms4 күн бұрын
You have a heck of a point about TV. Some are just going to be die hards. I see these as a good mix between the old, and then new.

@@FarpointFarms to be fair, I'm probably that way about some things...a good example is smart watches; my position is "I have a phone, I have a watch..and what are people doing that they need to constantly monitor things like pulse rate or how many steps they take? That's so dorky..". I just don't go to smart watch videos and leave the comment.

I have an internet radio, it's so clunky. It worked until the database of stations was turned off, so now it's just another speaker. A smart device running TuneIn Radio Pro is a far better experience, it's easy to use with a bigger station database.

This is one I might buy. Two questions: How many hours of listening on a full charge? In addition to Internet stations is there any way to hear podcasts? From the specs I think the radio lets you key in a URL, so can that be jury rigged to get to an online podcast?
@FarpointFarms4 күн бұрын
I full charge lets me fall asleep to it, and wake up to it and then do that one more time, so... Maybe 15 hours? If the podcaster has a live stream, then yes you can add it as a channel.

Thank you for the video!'😊 For me, an "Internet radio" is not a radio at all, regardless if it gets the info over wireless or via Ethernet cable. That's because my goal are not broadcast stations, but CB, ham radio, PMR and alike, marine, aviation and, in general, all kind of extra transmission that can be received just because it's on air.
