Aeion causing the mutation could also explain metroid fusions power ups and why you can get missiles by absorbing a blob of x.
@justinmiller21325 жыл бұрын
Well in Metroid Fusion we actually find out that X Parasites can organically download Data from certain bits of technology. I don't think Aeion is the cause of Metroid Mutations, it was likely an unforseen fluke caused by Metroids consuming the X Parasite, seeing as the X themselves are capable of modifying DNA to create more effective killing machines.

Samus gets abilities by absorbing X, the X get abilities by absorbing the DNA of living creatures. We know Metroids can mutate in weird ways, off the Prime games. We know that eating the X can give you weird mutations based on things they've absorbed, off of Fusion. See "True Chozo" in the Metroid Lore. I had made a comment here about it a while ago, but I can't find it anymore. Basically they're a splinter group of Chozo that were banished many years ago by the rest of the Chozo we recognize today. These guys wanted to hold onto the old ways of the Chozo back when they were conquerors, which is why they referred to themselves as "True Chozo" because they believed that those ways were their true purpose. I'm a bit late, but I think I have to add my theory: I honestly doubt the Chozo warrior killed the scientists because he wanted to contain the Metroids. Remember, the Chozo are supposed to have a very violent past (the Power Suit is their creation), and while some (like Samus "parents") adopted a peaceful lifestyle, some apparently didn't. I think the one with the arm cannon is a violent warlord still attacking and raiding planets and civilisations with his army (the "good old ways") who rejects the idea of peaceful exploration and coexistence, he just killed them without any real purpose (sort of a superiority/inferiority complex). Comparable with real life extremists killing intellectuals. He wasn't the sort of rescue they hoped for. I'm not 100% shure if this rogue Chozo fraction used the Metroids as weapons afterwards and it's unclear how far in the past the Chozo memories happened (could be decades, but also millenia), but it would make for an interesting storyline. Even a small group of violent Chozo could be an insane threat to humanity because the Federation is an ignorant group of jerks hardly able to adopt the basics of Chozo technology (in Federation Force for example) and the Space Pirates get their ass kicked by ONE warrior with a Chozo Power Suit. Would be a job for Samus I guess. Imagine 1vs1 duels with "other" Chozo warriors, that would be awesome, comparable with Prime Hunters, SA-X or fights of some other franchise where you battle faster, more deadly and "equal" enemies instead of some giant monsters or mechs.
@jameshobbsiv40406 жыл бұрын
You are basically describing the "True Chozo". An older piece of lore that was originally retconned out, but maybe this is Nintendo bringing it back. My theory is that the Chozo that attacked in the last memory are the True Chozo returned.
@jameshobbsiv40406 жыл бұрын
Also we know that the Chozo were still either still working on the Metroid project, or just finishing up by Zero Mission, because there's several panels of Old Bird talking about it. So we have a CLOSE idea as to when this would have happened.

Alias Anybody okay so I'm not sure if I understand the series 100% but I know I love it a lot so that's gotta count for smth. So yunno in super metroid how the chozo statues sometimes turn evil and attack you (ik the name of the evil ones I'm not sure how to spell it so I'll just go with Torizo) so what if like these Torizo statues represent an evil side of the Chozo (of the same species but not fighting for the same goals). Then again the statues might just attack u cuz mother brain controls chozo tech but still.
@IndieLambda5 жыл бұрын
@@elizabethp.7354 These chozo statue that attack you where made to trick Samus I'm pretty sure, the pirates can't use them but Mother Brain probably told them what they where for. Now that I think of it, wouldn't the best way to take out Samus for Mother Brain be to keep working on the power suit's design to improve it, mass produce it and equipe pirates with it? Mother Brain built Samus', rebuilt Zebes and rebuilt itself, now with a body and weapons, so, it would most likelly have had what it takes to equipe elite Zebesians with suits of chozo armor, chozo arm cannons and morph balls. Imagine Ridley in a 100% working Varia Suit, Samus' fucking ded lol.

This video is great, but I have one gripe: Metroids aren't parasites. They are predators. Regardless of what the games say, they hunt and kill prey ruthlessly, feeding on what they can in a very violent manner. Parasites, meanwhile, take their sweet time, and usually don't kill their preferred hosts at all, only making things more difficult for them.

Wow Orpheon, you have quite a nice theory going on there. I totally enjoyed watching it. I want to congratulate you on the animations, the new drawings, and how well you constructed the video explaining each chozo memory in full detail. Hopefully Samus Returns sells enough so we can have Metroid Dread or Metroid 5 (the continuation to fusion) where Samus is basically alone and has to go up against everyone. The question is, who is the high-ranked chozo that killed the elders? Is it a commander in chief (warrior) who has orders from the general? Is it another type of chozo altogether? Does Samus even know of his existence? How long did these events happen before Samus became a bounty hunter? I am so eager to see all of those questions answered. Anyways, keep up the great work my friend. Excellent video!

This video was a challenge in how to create a narrative that is interesting for you guys to watch (and not recycle footage or the same static images of the memories) so I am very happy to see the results where successful for you guys. I do believe Samus Returns did sell enough and has enough time in the spotlight for Nintendo to consider a new game. Maybe someday we will have our answers but until then "I will need some closure please" Hope you keep enjoying my videos

I always enjoy your videos my friend. As serious as the metroid franchise is with its scenery and plot, you sure know how to make it funny, friendly looking and appealing towards the viewer. I really want to know the answers, because maybe in Metroid 5 Samus finds out that some Chozo are still alive and this *civil war* or uprising from a clan is very very interesting. We have yet to see a live chozo in a metroid game, could metroid dread be the first at attempting that? So many questions, yet so little answers. I definitely enjoy your vids, been following your channel almost a year now. Keep doing what you're doing fellow metroid fan.

I didn't watch this video until after I'd already finished Metroid Dread. By the time we got to your theory, I'd found it hilarious that you'd considered it such a stretch. Honestly, I didn't even suspect that this final image (2d/10) could be a potential teaser.

5:58 What about the evolved metroids seen in test tunes during Fusion?
@Nyxael58453 жыл бұрын
Adam's AI in Fusion said that the Federation found a way to accelerate a Metroid's life cycle using the simulation of SR-X's environment in the B.S.L. Station. They were able to evolve a Metroid larva into an Omega Metroid in a few days. The Omega Metroid seen at the end of Fusion was a Metroid larva that escaped the Restricted Area and managed to feed on X so fast in Sector SR-X that it molted into its final evolutionary cycle in a matter of moments. The foreshadowing about the fast evolution leading to the final boss was numberous Metroid husks littered across the sector after the Restricted Area was destroyed.

I saw this comment (from the user Zaku Guriin) on the Metroid Dread trailer (in the Gamespot channel): "I love being right. Years ago when Metroid 2 remake came out there was a cryptic message after the final art in the game is unlocked that said M5D and the D was colored red. I remember telling all my friends that this was them teasing Metroid 5 Dread and nobody believed me." Is this true or is the trolling?

Awesome video, I never payed too much attention to the aeon energy but it certainly explains a lot. I am pretty excited to see what is next in the series after everything.
@Metalders7 жыл бұрын
Well, with this game they debunked I theory I had for quite some time: X and Metroids already existed in SR388, but when the Chozo arrived and saw one of the X parasites taking over the body of a critter they freaked out, thinking in all of these things like taking over the galaxy. The Metroid we know are simply an upgraded version of the original one they found on the planet to exterminate the DNA-copiers. Problem is, the juiced up version of the predator got out of their control.
@stefanoponce60905 жыл бұрын
I think it's been well established that they created the metroids, not upgraded them.

Just got the game a week a go to get warmed up and yeah everything you've said is accurate. Also the bonus 11th picture was a nice surprise, no other game has done surprises in a simple gallery feature before.

Dude holt shit, the ending of the video, you were absolutely right! There is a new 2d metroid, Metroid Dread came out as you know. Your theory was on the money!

I'd just like to say with how they made Adam was a stoic rebellious Commander who would do anything for his crew. He certainly didn't seem like that in Metroid Other M, which was a real let down.
