You put forth the difference between restore and refinish. As an old school UK restorer of porcelain and fine china I applaud your eye and skill for detail and appreciation of the old methods. It is refreshing to see someone who really takes the time to restore rather than slap in a few repairs and paint it all. Bless.

I love how you showed and preserved the info on the 1922 restoration and hope that the next restorer will be as respectful of both the earlier notes.

The patience that it would take to give that thorough of attention to all those details is probably beyond most of us! It's very likely because you have the mentality of a craftsman.

We're all familiar with dovetail construction in drawers but I've never seen it in the main construction of piece of furniture-it's a testament to the talent of the original artist. The grain of the veneer is phenomenal. After you did the final polish, the wood, it was so fine, it looked like polished leather.
