LOL Its Chris Broderick aka robot. The fact he can play Marty's solos and get it down decently. Versatile is kinda understating...

My fianc'e ordered me one yesterday as an engagement gift! Had the Floyd version a couple years ago but traded it in for something else and I regretted it ever since. But the thing I wished for before was I wished it had a hard tail and here we go!...When I had this guitar it was probably the best feeling and most solid I have felt. Beautiful sounding as well.

Great guitar with great features...carbon fiber rods: check, stainless frets: check, solid bridge: check, holy grail woods body/neck: check, passive pup with no inline tone robbing: check, planet waves tuners: check, attractive guitar: check....has it all! And sounds great through the EVH rig. Nice collab sig guitar. The only thing I didn't here Chris mention was if the pickups were direct body mounted or not, which definately helps with tone.

@JacksonAxe8 жыл бұрын
USA Selects have a mother of pearl logo. Which import do you have?
@jgmopar8 жыл бұрын
I have the SLATXMGQ3-6, Oh mother of pearl would look nice. I am guessing since mine is import and good price a few things have to be sacrificed. Im just weird when it comes to headstock logo's and I think I over examine things.
@JacksonAxe8 жыл бұрын
jgmopar Not sure how the import logos are done, but I've seen some older USA logos with fuzzy edges. This was before the MOP logos...back when they were screened on. My 2011 Japanese DKMGT has a logo with sharp edges. Perhaps yours just got by quality control? I haven't paid attention to the newer logos to be honest.

So stainless steel frets don't wear down? Why don't all guitars use them?
@Silverado5150MKII8 жыл бұрын
It brings up the price on the instrument, so keep it affordable most companies don't really use them lol.
@thomascoolberth26488 жыл бұрын
So the guitar wears out after 5 years of heavy use and then you have to buy a new one.
@Erowens988 жыл бұрын
They do wear down , just slower, they are also harder to restore once worn, i do think stainless steel is superior, but its not a miracle.
@WrathWithinMe8 жыл бұрын
Stainless steel does wear but in a slower pace, if you use the traditional nickel strings. Using stainless steel strings should mean that you're frets lasts just like regular frets. The reason why such few guitars use them is the cost, they destory tools and takes longer time to work with meaning the price for the guitar will increase. I've seen custom shops charge 300-500 dollars extra for stainless steel frets. Also one reason a lot of amature players don't want stainless steel frets is because they wear off your strings really fast. Not a big deal for a pro player that changes strings after every gig. But can be a problem for the amature players.
@Erowens988 жыл бұрын
WrathWithinMe I would think stainless steel frets would make strings last longer because after buffing they would stay shiny and less abrasive for longer than a softer alloy, though once they lose there shine i guess they would be tougher on your strings than traditional alloys, But it takes longer to lose the shine. Polishing your frets is something anyone can do whenever it needs being done though. Am i wrong?

fundamental note a bit more. Now I know why I like high mids for soloing
@dylangreen98197 жыл бұрын
edgelord of mordor when you are plugged in, it doesn't do much. acoustically, Tone changes slightly. an acoustic guitar is the only thing that will have major tone change with different woods.
@edgelordofmordor7 жыл бұрын
The Ghost of the Flying Dutchman high mids make each and every note sound distinct and u get a cleaner tone for high speed pick attacks. And it's more to do with the amp setting rather than the wood. It sometimes gets kinda difficult to distinguish between a mahogany and an alder body electric guitar on high distortion
@dylangreen98197 жыл бұрын
edgelord of mordor exactly. wood can only make a slight difference
