Chris shares his 4-year recovery journey from moderate Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / M.E.
After struggling to walk 5 minutes on a typical day with CFS, Chris is back to playing Aussie rules football, working full-time as a teacher, and living life with renewed purpose.
Chris talks about the challenges during his journey, the things he tried that didn't work, and he things he tried that did.
He shares the Ayurvedic principles that helped him heal his gut, his experience with Western and Eastern medicine, mediation techniques (it's not trying to think nothing!), discusses how he improved his sleep, cold-water therapy, and much more. He talks about his upward trajectory when the pieces came together. He also shares encouraging words of wisdom for others on their healing journey.
You can read his written recovery story here, which goes into more detail of each aspect of how he healed:

Here is his brand new coaching website (it's in the works):

*Happy Update*: Chris completed the marathon he was training for (he finished in under 4 hours!). After the school term ended, he is now starting to coach others! You can reach Chris at his new Instagram handle @healingwithrocdoc38 about coaching. I also included a link in the description to his full written story and to his new coaching website. What a great guy!

Dr Gabor Mate is about dysfunctional childhood/trauma causes disease resulting in disconnection from self (going through the motions) comes down to learning about our childhoods, our parents how did it effect me and choices I made that may have got me here. Where do feelings of shame, fear, low self worth, self sabotage, people pleasing etc. heal our past heals the body. We are what we believe and it is also about surrender too it’s a balance and spirituality is important too. I will never get back to where I was but who is to say that was the best way. I am far more grateful, content, present, and kinder to myself which brings great peace.

I find alcohol, even one glass of wine or one beer to be a surefire trigger for a crash. Neurotoxin. I’ve found mushrooms of all types, medicinal, gourmet and magic, micro dosing, to be extremely beneficial

I've been going through this after covid. I trained 5 days a week and was athlete, now I can get through a full day's work after months of recovery, but still haven't been able to go back to training

Thanks for your comment Benny. Sending you my support. I have a recovery story from another athlete (long distance trainer) coming soon. Some of her key things was stopping fighting her body, acceptance, finding the meaning/purpose of what it was trying to teach her, and work to calm the nervous system to increase resilience (I can't do it justice in a quick KZbin comment). Like Chris, she found Wim Hoff breathing and cold water immersion helpful. I hope you found Chris' story helpful. In written interview I link to in the KZbin description, Chris breaks down more of his specific movement strategy. You may want to check out Luke's LC recovery story featuring Pamela Rose on Raelan's channel, if you haven't seen it, in case it's useful. I think factoring in mental stimulation also can help, too, in my experience -- and factoring in brain emptying time as Pamela calls it. You'll be even stronger one day physically and mentally because of what you learned from this setback.

@@HealwithLiz I can't thank you enough for such a positive message! Thank you thank you thank you. I am trying to stay as positive as possible. For me training was my therapy, so now I've really had to turn inwards and address my inner problems. I'm sure I'll come out the other side eventually. I will definitely check out the other episodes. 🙏🏻
