Always wanted to see Soundgarden growing up as they were one of my favorite bands. Finally got to see them and they were excellent. Chris seemed to almost be back to early form. The band was just electric that night. A month later he was gone. RIP Chris.

@@roxannemoser "In The Magic & The Crazy, The Whole Story, Michael Jackson’s biographer J. Randy Taraborrelli promoted the theory that “Billie Jean” was derived from a real life experience that Michael faced in 1981. He documents that a girl had written Michael Jackson a letter claiming that he was the father of her child. Michael used to receive letters of this kind regularly and he would just ignore them. But this woman continued to send Jackson more and more letters, she also stated that she loved him and they will make a happy couple together raising the claimed child. She pondered how Jackson could ignore his own flesh and blood. The letters she wrote were very disturbing to Michael to the extent that he suffered nightmares."

My wife and I were at his final concert in Detroit. His voice was amazing and I remember thinking to myself "how can he keep this up without tearing out his vocal cords?" He was a once in a generation talent and it was a bittersweet experience being there for his last song. There was really no indication during the concert what would happen just hours after the show ended.

I would have been at that too if I had known it was happening. His next show was the Rock on the Range concert closer to me in Ohio, but the Fox is one of my favorite venues I've ever been at. I imagined the day he died and went where all best rest in music and I bet Jeff Buckley and Layne Staley were the 1st guys at the gates to make him welcome like a brother... and Michael moonwalking like a an angel going through everybody to be there as soon as he could so he could hug Chris tight, so tight he wasn't letting him go for what is an eternity there, in his very own way to say to Chris "Thank you"... I can literally hear his voice saying that and i swear... that hug must have been so tight man... so tight and so full of gratitude. What Chris did with this song was HUGE! Shows what a phenomenal song this is that it works both ways. But of course only Cornell could pull off this version! What a voice, what a soulful man. RIP Chris and Michael ❤️

A dance song becomes poetry in Chris's hands. Honored and grateful to have seen him live with Audioslave. No one like him.

OMG. I never knew he covered this song! Fell in love with his voice when sang the "Seasons" song he sang for the Superman movie. This man's voice was so beautiful, rich & powerful. Like Jamel said, I had chills listening to this. R.I.P. Chris.😢😔

I always loved this song but until I heard Chris’s version I never knew the story line. I just always thought it was a cool pop song! Chris is probably the best vocalist of my generation. R I P Chris .. Gone But Not Forgotten.
