@ Chris ...can't be certain the same quality that kept you here kept me hangin' around.. But to me, way more than Mr Cornell's vocals came through his delivery... more like his whole way/intent, his entire being was channeled into that voice. Speaking personally, it made darkness navigable on a typical day, and it outright carried me on the bad ones.. Now, thanks to a shift in perspectives, a shift on a fairly monumental scale, I'm mostly upbeat & happy these days.

Every single night...I just scour KZbin. I sleep to his BEAUTIFUL voice. I just CAN'T accept this loss. There no peace in thinking that Chris Cornell died... ALONE... In a hotel room.... By his own hand.... I will NEVER believe it. If it's the truth, then my heart can't handle the truth of that. I LOVED him too much. I LOVE HIM TOO MUCH. I have since I first laid eyes on him in 1991. I was battling juvenile cancer. I was puking my guts up,bile, green bitter vile stuff... But every time I managed to lift my head up, I fixated my gaze through stinging tears on the video playing on MTV..... It was Outshined. I bought the cassette soon after. I listened to it daily, A LOT!.... kicked cancer's ass!.... And became a fan for life in the process. Soundgarden,Chris, that album... It was ALL POWERFUL, BEAUTIFUL AND DIFFERENT from anything else I'd ever seen. I REALLY needed that. Apparently I still do... I got to live. And as long as this heart beats, his voice will echo through this world, I will see to it. Is the least I can do. I owe him one.

I hear your gratitude. Yes Outshined, never could get enough too. Take care. Not all of us get an easy simple journey. Us that can feel and express it like Cornell's honesty and passion is Nothing but pure love. Yes it's rare to see. Have grattitude he shared his gift. He honed it to like you have to want to live. Please stay in the moment - one day at a time. Stay alive and hone your journey. Joy and gratitude are the best paths in life to keep going. Stay close to God and ask for his cover of protection.

They had great names (and it's rare) with significant and simple meaning (thanks to Chris) and amazing songs that sounded like no one else. I would love your input on the first video of my first album. It got the attention of one of my heroes Joe Bouchard (ex bass player founding members of BÖC) who is following us on Soundcloud but returns from people who likes same music is always the best. I want to remember him and celebrate his life and amazing music and that voice, while I'm here-- it's the quality of life I need and I'm working on- and to fight back against the forces and situations that have made me even think of hurting myself. 3 years 5 months, still crying over his death. He died not only for his own pain, but for ours. There is NO other voice that can make me cry like I do every time with this man. And I don't mean just a tear or two...I mean full ON. It makes me realize how a book like the Bible came into existence. Imagine if just 15 of the most prominent scholars of our time wrote about the "miracles" Chris "performed"? How many lives he "SAVED". He was an empath, he felt the pain of the world, in the end, the pain was too much to bear. Btw, how incredible is Brian as a multi-instrumentalist. We have not forgotten you Chris, even now I pass down as much of your music to my daughter and nieces. And when my nephews are old enough, them too.

His covers of Michael Jacksons “Billie Jean”. and the cover “Nothing compares to you” by tafka Prince. Are incredibly powerful and emotional. You can feel the pain this man has endured through some of his music

He was murdered! Id still like to know who killed him? First his lying wife said he killed himself with a elastic exercise band? They proved no way someone that tall could have pulled that off. Then she said he overdosed on 2 1 mg ativans???? Really??? Being a pharmacy student for years .No i ended not being a pharmacist but theres no ffnn way that would have killed him. His death stinks to high heaven. Also she didn't go & identify his body??? His brother did. And he was cremated immediately????? Suspect Highly suspicious!!!

The last time I was playing this, was maybe a month and a half ago. It had about two songs left. Since then I've gotten a little Corgi friend to watch grow, and the news of my first born being on the way. Tomorrow is the first 8 week checkup. I went outside just now to clean out my old car, brought my new pup to lay around, as I'm finally getting a new car after 9 years. I pressed play, and didn't change anything, started where I left off. I will play this throughout my life, and to my child while they grow. And I'll teach them the importance of this man, though it comes naturally to understand. Thank you Chris.

Chris was such a nice man. I met and hung out with him for about 30 minutes at the Lollapalooza 92 in N Carolina. Three months before getting out of the Marine Corps. I asked him, "Should I dye my hair blood red or blue black?" He grabbed the top of my hair and said, "Shave it all off." I looked at him bewildered. A few months later, I noticed he had taken his own advice.

I am also a mental health therapist (CBT) and his music and rock music for that matter, in that particular moment of struggle changed my life. I wish you all the best. Kindest T

He was the greatest in terms of vocal technique in rock and roll, one of the last great musicians to orbit this planet. Cornell put his soul and his immense sensitivity into every cover, and everything he played shone like gold, is brilliant, singular, art in the purest form. "Cornell had the songwriting skills of the Beatles, the weight of Black Sabbah, and a powerful voice like Mercury. He was everything!!

People who aren't artists always say shit like that 🙄 when you are an artist, you understand that one isn't better than the other. You are saying he was better than layne? He's better than Corey Taylor, Chester? If you're not an artist, it makes sense, you just don't understand art. Comparing layne & chris would be cheap. They are both great, just totally different, that's why as an artist you can't compare. Actually, Comparing isn't even a thing amongst artists, that's an untalented person's POV

Been sitting here since with a cold beverage, a lump in my throat and a few tears sprinkled into between.
