A PHD from a private ivy league cost on average roughly $150,000 in total. That's 6 years at MIT, harvard, stanford, cornell etc. Not to mention the actually PHD portion is often completely free because you act as a school staff member to earn it. So it can be less.

@2t923 your daughter is ripping you off. You can literally look up tuition prices for the universities it's public record. The tuition of Harvard is $1641 per credit hour which is $49,000 per year if you go to Harvard all 4 years that's less than 200k

I make money by going to school but maybe that's because I planned ahead (scholarships, GI bill) and work to pay for non school expenses instead of blowing money.
