I hear influences of Mr. Hyman and Mr. Hersch in this loving rendition. I also note that you enjoy playing a big Steinway with the lid and cover down. That is a special sound.

Beautiful, I just started learning this tune, heard it played so many ways, love your treatment of it, especially the lovely chords in the intro, and the strolling slow stride feel later on.. thank you

@jsteeber In one of his other videos you can see the marking C6 on the plate. For those who don't know the size/model - the C6 is Yamaha's premium 6'11" piano.

@ChrisDawsonMusic You'd think I'd recognize one of "our" pianos. I used to represent Yamaha to the classical (and often) jazz industry. This piano has such a fat bass. It's wonderful -- a CFIIIS, I suppose. Glad I could hear both Hyman and Hersch in your pristine rendition. Yes it's hard -- sustaining something that sophisticated yet balanced. At any rate, I like your work a lot.

Just took the left hand II V I you did at 2:00-2:06 and moving it through the 12 keys, it's a start, sounds great, thankfully not too difficult to decipher. Those overhead shots are too valuable. Thanks

@jsteeber Yes...I really love Dick Hyman and Fred Hersch. Had a few lessons with Fred while living in NYC a few years back. Anything by Hyman is just fine by me. I'd also say that Alan Broadbent really got me thinking about how to swing lines slowly. They're slow, yet swing...not stagnant. Also, not easy to do. Takes a lot of control. Not a Steinway, but a Yamaha. I like the more mellow sound with the lid down, but probably better to have it up for the recording.

Ah yes. In this video, though, with the top down, and via this recording, you have the essence of a concert grand -- not a bad thing to have. I have a C3 Midi Grand. That would be an instrument ten inches shorter than the item pictured. Both are wonderful scales (as said by piano makers).

I want to try playing your performance Really excuse me Please come Can you share the music sheet of this song? By mail. In order not to lower the value of your performance. I will not share it with anyone. I will cherish it. Please If it's really really hard, I want to buy. If so, how long will it be possible? Thank you for your reply
