AFTER THIS VIDEO, I'M TAKING A KZbin BREAK. Other things need my attention. I'm not taking a break from posting videos completely; I'm taking a break from our usual posting schedule. Video uploads will continue during this break but will be sporadic. You might get one video next week, four videos the next, none the week after, one the week after that. Who knows. I'm not making guarantees. The typical 2-4 video per week schedule you've expected will resume sometime in October. I appreciate your support and understanding.

Love watching you two together. You can really see how much you both enjoy this. It always makes me sad hearing people talk about working out like it is an unpleasant chore that they begrudgingly do. When I started as a teenager it was awesome. I had so much fun lifting that I often went for hours lifting, and discussing lifting with my best friend (he is still my best friend now, 23 years later). I love seeing that passion and enjoyment from others.
@jujimufu3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Cameron, take it from a guy who does this for a living (turned passion into work) and has done it 22 years now - I still LOVE working out as much as ever, if not even more. @Mipayman3 жыл бұрын
I was smiling ear to ear during his "I learned to deadlift" story. That must of been the most amazing feeling. I understand as someone who constantly had lower back sciatic pain from conventional deadlifts. I took the time to slow it down and work on form (patience) and I was able to max out with all of my home gym weight (480lbs). Immediately after I said I need more weight!
@andrewwallace85343 жыл бұрын
This is a common side effect of PEDs. People become more concerned with constantly making “progress” by adding more weight rather than learning how to properly do the lift in the first place. If you’re natural the ONLY way to make progress is by refining your technique.
@TheLazyPinecone3 жыл бұрын
Are you still doing conventional?
@pgbb35973 жыл бұрын
@@andrewwallace8534 that's the dumbest thing I've heard. Some of the biggest examples of ego lifting I've seen in the gym was by 160 lb nattys trying to "keep up" with everyone. And guys on gear need good form in order to progress just the same or injury is inevitable. Everybody needs to work on form. The speed of progression will just be faster with enhanced lifters..
@Mipayman3 жыл бұрын
@@TheLazyPinecone Yes, I never tried sumo for some reason. I did switch to a trap bar for a bit and that helped out. My biggest problem that I fixed was I wasn't properly bracing and making everything tight.
@Justin00483 жыл бұрын
@@andrewwallace8534 So you are saying that natural athletes make 0 progress unless they improve their technique. Why even continue to work out if you make no progress?This makes no sense. Where did you hear that? If you came up with this then why do you think that? You know that natural athletes can gain weight, right? and without PEDs. Its called eating more calories than you burn. With that increased weight comes muscle (and fat) and with that increased muscle you can lift heavier weights or more reps. Very, very few are really at their absolute peak weight with the most muscle they can hold on their body and at the lowest body fat their body can sustain.

Chris' story about "The day I learned to Deadlift" has me amped up. The past several years, I've hardly done any deadlifts. Absolutely nothing "heavy" following a competition lift gone bad, when my lower back gave out. Chris's tips about slowing down on the set up to ensure its right and wedging through the weight, instead of lifting it, have me ready to throw this awesome exercise back into my regular routine with an improved mental approach. Of all the videos of people coaching Juji and others on deadlift, this one really helped the most. Even though I had heard others describe breaking the bar (e.g. hearing it clink before pulling), stacking lats, etc etc, seeing how much tension Chris generated at the bottom of the lift and seeing it fly up like a counterlever was awesome. It was just visually so easy to see the difference with him and with Juji's new form. Can't wait to try these techniques.

Such great advice! I learned this myself a couple years ago myself and made the best, most rapid progress that I’d ever made and didn’t show any signs of slowing down. Now I am back to deadlifting and trying to recapture that feeling but haven’t quite gotten there. I think I can now. I just did deadlifts unfortunately but I think I am going to do more tomorrow just so I can work on this advice. So stoked.
