No shame in that pal, Collins was meant to be the next great prospect in British boxing. I'm certain that if Stretch had been trained by a top American trainer, e.g. Eddie Futch I'm fairly certain that he'd have beaten Eubank. Along with Chris Pyatt versus Steve Collins.

I remember Stretch... Fancied himself a bit as I recall... Doing quite well until the first decent punch landed on his chin... Stretch's corner looked like a Bros appreciation night out... Nice to see all the smartly dressed men with their suits and ties, ladies wearing nice dresses ringside... Stark contrast to the yobs and slappers you get at fights these days waving their phones around like it was going out of fashion... Different class

When I was working on the building in the 80s,I Almost got into a fight with a bloke who sparred with George Collins who fought Gary Stretch.I wish it had happened. Even if I'd lost,I would've had that attachment.

I know this might sound crazy, but i think Chris was technically much better and strategic at the end of his career, in his 30s!! He seemed more compact and composed, like he knew what he was doing more, but the inevitable sadly happens over 30, you lose your stamina and punch resistance, despite that superior knowledge and experience you have. It's like life is playing a sick joke! .

Negative from the commentators, negativity in the way they called the fights, negative in the promotion of him as a fighter.

We live in a world where people cheer against who they want to lose with more passion for who they want to win. Do I think the hate for Chris was purely race based? Not at all. To be honest I had stretch ahead on points and the one exuding dominance overall until the 6th round stoppage. He proved himself to be a top quality fighter in this bout, not just a pretty face made for the modelling/acting industry.

Eubank was very tough around the edges here , just swinging in and lunging from the outside with shots a decent opponent could go and make a cup of tea come back and still dodge. Eubank is a true warrior and has a chin of steel though.

Gary Stretch was (is) an egotistical prat. I remember him back in the early 90s, saw him in Hampstead. I was in a phone box trying to make a call and he wanted to use it. I was a bit younger than him and smaller (about 16-17) and never forget his bully-like approach being a lot older and bigger than I was. Says it all. Tosser.

Just the fight shown with NO subscriptions or ppv.It was on terrestrial tv with just the short clips of the weigh in and a short few interviews and some adverts.The undercard fights were shown afterwards with just highlights.More highlights were shown if there was a knockout or stoppage in the main event.Then sky takeover with all their millions and make the sport boring with 5 hours of the whole event including the undercard and lengthy shallow head to head interviews.Now with women doing it i have even less interest in it now
