Say what you will about his AEW run(and personally I think he was a huge part in giving it prestige to start with), the Owens jericho story was amazing. Chris was three career defining runs in WWE that any wrestler would kill for(his OG run, the second run after he turned on Shawn, and the Owens run)

Definitely was a big aspect of when it started. Seeing a Jericho jump right from the jump was a big move at showing it wasn’t just a well funded Indy. And people like to mock him but having established names like him and JR was a big part of getting a major network deal. When you’re negotiating with media executives who don’t follow independent wrestling having well known names is huge to build confidence you can get an audience.

If we can be real, no story going into Mania33 was good. That entire show was all spectacle with the set and “dream matches” but truthfully nothing had substance. I was there live and the only memorable moment was AJ vs Shane, Brock and Goldbergs squash match, and Takers “farewell”.

In WWE, Jericho was a good upper mid-carder that could occasionally be a good fit for the main event. He should've never been THE guy, ala Steve Austin, The Rock, Cena, etc. I'm sure he always thought he should be in his head, but it only worked in AEW because no one except the nerdiest wrestling fans even knew who most of the rest of the roster even was when it started.

I like Jericho and have huge respect for him. Doesn't mean I can't disagree with him with certain topics. Back in 2016/2017, Goldberg vs Lesnar was the bigger priority to the global market and it was the right call to put the title involved there instead of Y2J vs Owens. The crowd in the stadium agreed too. But I do agree with folks when they say that Owens vs Y2J should have main evented any other PPV. I can imagine Owens vs Y2J inside HIAC. Would've been perfect for that year's Summerslam as the main event.

So the point is as long as you’re on the card you shouldn’t really make noise. Wm33 was quite stacked anyway and I think the undertaker vs Roman reigns was the right call!

​@@cindyskullz I disagree completely. They were given 16 minutes, 4 minutes less than Shane vs Styles, the opening match, and Shane vs AJ had a better match. Hell, Goldberg and Lesnar had an under-5 minute match that was considered the sleeper hit of the night and more memorable than Jericho and Owens match. As for the main event, the Undertaker vs Reigns was already set for that spot, Goldberg didn't take away the main event from Owens/Jericho. The truth is, these guys got bitchy that they weren't having a world title match, and as a result, to prove a point, they went out and had a standard "Good Wrestling Match", completely with an obnoxious comedy spot, that was designed to appeal to the internet crowd, as opposed to having a match that actually went with the story that was being told between them. They wrestled like they were having a random no-stakes match on Raw, not a feud blow off match at Mania. I, personally, was disappointed with them that night, and so was Vince, and yet the internet coddled them instead of realizing they screwed up.

And now he's in aew, and he's done nothing noteworthy. He still had value to wwe, but, they also value building up the younger guys so they need to feature them in the mote prominent spots on the card. Honestly, him vs KO for the world title would have been great. Bork and oldturd shouldn't have been anywhere near the title or main event, but he understands the business, he knows WM is a show that will be used to build new talent up a little. He got on the card, he got paid. He doesn't and didn't need to be in a main spot. Second match is fine. This sounds to me like 1 step away from pulling a cm junk and crying like a bitch then quiting cos you can't get your way. I would also suggest that whilst he still has value, wwe doesn't need jericho, but he absolutely needs them cos his aew stuff is just shit.

It was a dumb choice cos aew is quite literally the worst company in the industry because the guy running it is a retard. But he made his choice. We've all heard that he bragged about it being the easiest money he's ever made. But what has aew done for him? What has he done for aew? The answer to both, is nothing. Aew continues to die a slow death, and jericho remains largely irrelevant. Again, he needs wwe more than they need him. He's got limited in ring time left and is closer to the end of his career than the start. Wwe has multiple young stars mixed in with their established ones and jerichos value decreases on a daily basis now. Same goes for everyone who jumped to aew. What have any of them done there that's noteworthy? Wwe isn't exactly pumping out great product at the minute, but they have everything they need to keep a coherent show going, aew has tk and the 3 stooges. And if you're honest, jericho has become his own worst enemy. His feuds have all been bad in aew because there's no filter to stop him doing idiotic shit. And the ratings have been falling during his matches and segments. He's not the draw or attraction he thinks he is since joining aew. He needs to realise that.
