Tidbits from the podcast: Chris absolutely loves goofy games and pranks, he literally lives his life like he is in Taskmaster 24 hours a day. He tried to pitch a comedy show similar to TM that featured goofy games & contests. He didn't get it because TM was already being made. So he focused all his energy on getting invited. He refused to watch it until he got invited, so he missed seasons 1-12. He admits it might have helped to watch some episodes beforehand. But, now he's a TM legend! And up to this point, Chris is statistically the most successful TM contestant to place 2nd. He lost only to one of the best contestants ever in Sophie Duker.

Another great tidbit: Ed Gamble and Chris Ramsey have the same tour manager. When Ed was booked for Series 9, the manager was like, "Good for you Ed but Chris is gonna be SO annoyed".

Interesting that he had not seen previous episodes - He was definitely channeling Morgana when he blasted Alex with the hose!

@@stratobungle I think guests learn very quickly that it's funny to torment Alex. Sally Phillips stuck cake in his armpits and waterboarded him. Liza Tarbuck made him sit on a cake. Alice Levine gave out his PIN number. Lou Sanders signed Alex up for thousands of online schemes and made him eat burnt magazines. Ed Gamble made Alex wear funnels on his bare chest that would shoot water. Mawaan Rizwan made Alex drink cocktails mixed in a trash bin. Rhod Gilbert practically spent an entire series humiliating Alex (and Greg too). Honestly, Morgana is a sweetheart compared to Rhod - but she's got that devilish twinkle in her eye - they all do. There should be a massive compilation of Alex's greatest humiliations.

Thanks for sharing these tidbits! One thing I'll say, though, is that it's hard to compare contestants across seasons. While it's impressive that Chris and Sophie scored so highly, Greg has clearly softened somewhat as a grader. He rarely gives one point these days, and often will award ties for first and second.

@@sparo_splat Tim Key from Season 1 is the official "Task Consultant" and he's also one of Alex's closest friends. Chris would be a great consultant of course. But he's already got a huge celebrity profile right now after he did Taskmaster and Strictly Come Dancing. He's gotta capitalize on it. Chris has a big comedy tour coming up, FYI. Tim is someone who has had a ton of experience behind the scenes of many TV, radio, and film scripts. I think Alex especially trusts Tim because he was in the original Taskmaster Edinburgh Fringe stage show in 2010. Mike Wozniak, Mark Watson, and Joe Wilkinson were also part of the 2010 project that eventually became the TV show 5 years later.
