The only thing he destroyed was his moral high ground. The first few minutes were quite funny, but then it turned into a total shit show of a hate speech and you could tell by his body language and the expression in his eyes that he really meant it. If he had given that speech a day, a few weeks or even a few months after the slap in an interview then I would’ve been totally fine with it, but not in the context of a comedy special, this was supposed to be funny and it just wasn’t. Also, he had an entire YEAR to come up with something funny and this was the best he could do? Pathetic, really. He stooped down to the same level as Will’s totally uncalled for and unjustified slap and I’ve lost a lot of respect for Chris. No wonder Netflix took it down after the deserved backlash!

Chris is such a professional that even when he got emotional and flubbed the joke about Emancipation, he acknowledged it and then continued on. The man was, is and always will be a pro. It was a live show and the pressure was on. These things happen. He probably hasn't performed this material yet. Most comedians practice their stuff at live shows before they actually film a show for Netflix. I don't think Chris had a chance to do that. This is probably the first time he's performed this in front of a large audience. So I'll give him a pass because everything else was so good and the material itself was so good. I love how he just kept saying how everyone called him and bitch, and he kept saying it over and over. So he was calling Will a bitch without actually calling him a bitch - until the end, when he said what Will did was a bitch move. He laid out his evidence before actually making his argument. That must have been really therapeutic for him. You guys should react to his after show interview that he did on his KZbin channel. I think he did it from his garage. Hilarious reaction as always. I just did a similar one of the same clip, but it finished the joke. It cut off in your clip before he finished that joke. "She says me, a fuckin' grown ass man, to quit his job. Because her husband didn't get nominated for Concussion...." the punchline was: "and then he goes and gives me a concussion." I'm watching the special in clips also. Always enjoy watching with you fellas. Thanks for that!

@@vanhattfield8292 Yeah but the "Actually" in the comment implies that sharks are not fish themselves. Your use of "Which" immediately after "Sharks" also implies he played the shark, rather than the fish. See what I did there? To be fair, he played a shark in real life pretty well.

Chris Rock said what thousands if not millions said after The Oscars. Will Smith was humiliated by Jada for years and Chris Rock was his selective outrage target. Will wouldn't have slapped anyone else especially if that anyone else was, say, The Rock. Or any big man that could whip his ass. Great reactions!

What ugly words for another man and his wife. On stage, in front of millions of people, a man makes fun of another man's wife, and the man who defends his wife is found guilty? I think he did what a real man should do, and defended his wife, the mother of his children. In my culture it's called real manhood.
@DWtechfan
@DWtechfan Жыл бұрын
@@nesetans6252 a real man? Maybe if he'd been totally innocent. This "real man" let his wife parade around with her son's friend and flaunt it for everyone to see. And didn't try to hide it. Yes, any real man will defend their wives but a real man also wouldn't have let themselves be put in that position to begin with. In my culture, you practice what you preach. Will Smith might have been right in defending Jada but anyone at that Oscars are subject to jokes. If the Smith family don't have a sense of humor, they don't need to go out in public at an awards show where a comic is hosting. Also, in my culture, you don't start drama with someone on live freaking television over a damn joke.
