My father worked as a roofer for decades. In the winter he did insulation and upholstery. My mother slept until 3pm smoked like a chimney and never left the chair in front of TV. When she divorced him, she got the house, money, property set for life. My father got nothing for the back breaking work he did. It is a trap, never get married.

That's rough. I feel like there needs to be a marriage contract to make equal/similar effort. So, the guy is at work all day, the woman takes care of everything else. Woman is at work all day, guy takes care of everything else. Both work? Split the chores, bills etc. I think younger women are finally shaking the 50's era expectations of being "taken care of". My attitude: Its a fucking team: you take care of each other, you serve each other. As far as I'm concerned, you buy in or believe that or bye bye, baby.

One of the few comedians that achieves a mix of deep issues on a deep level with comedic elan. This skit throws his confession in as bonus. You gotta respect his maturity as a man, as unlike so many that blame the woman who fleeced them in the divorce settlement stage, he 'fesses up, takes full responsibility without blaming someone else (a woman/women), and doesn't tar all with the same brush. It's quite remarkable and sadly rare these days. That's a flawed but now mature and attractively intelligent man. imho

The funniest ones are the ones where the narrative is she tried to make it work, when the reality is she's the one who destroyed it! And that's not even the true irony! No, the true irony is she destroyed it and you have to give up half your assets before starting over! Some of those assets go to her and some to the blood-sucking lawyers! When it's all said and done, you are left with little money (less still after child support and/or alimony), and no dignity! The narrative then becomes about what you didn't do and how she doesn't know what happened! You have to find new social circles, and you will get a quick lesson in hypocrisy the next time you attend your church! But that's okay because you won't feel like socializing much anyway. God forbid you actually meet someone who gets you to thinking perhaps you should try again, only to have her politely decline by telling you she "isn't looking for anything serious," but the reality is you are damaged goods and you have nothing to offer her (Damn!) But you will have plenty of time to figure out how the hell did you ever allow yourself to play a game where you could have your soul ripped out simply because one day the woman you love decides she doesn't love you anymore! You didn't mistreat her; no cheating, lying, or degrading her! No, you did nothing but love her! And who knows, maybe you'll have enough time to regroup on your retirement before you are too damn old to work any longer! But... this too shall pass. For all who want to get married, I sincerely wish you the best! But I will never trust that "institution" again! Thanks for the free therapy!

I will say this as a Man that we are willing to hold ourselves Accountable and we have the Courage to own that Accountability in front of the whole world. My Father blamed my mother for a lot of things, but eventually he did admit to his actions, but my Mother NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER admitted that she did one thing wrong in their brief 4yr marriage and she spent the next 30yrs reminding him over and over blaming him for what he did! She never remarried, while he went on get married 3 times. 13yrs after he died, she visited his gravesite and spent 30 whole minutes in our store talking to the customers of the family business that he built and blaming him for getting remarried twice; when she was the one that filed for the divorce. I know for a fact today that I couldn't marry a woman like my mother, because she doesn't know how to let go of a grudge or take any accountability for her demanding, blame-drunk, disagreeable nature. While I pray for her to heal those deep wounds that she refuses to forgive all these years later.

Understand that whole story. Im nearly 31, my parents got divorced to and i lived with my mother since im 17. I came to the conclusion that the whole problem was that view that man and woman are equal. Its just false. Man are 10x more capable in ethics, generosity, bravery, let go things and so forth. Whatever a man is capable to do ethically, you have to divide this by minimum 5 to get what a woman can. Wathever a man handles and endures, you divide it by mininum 5. One that doesnt understand that live in a world of fantasy. Biology tells you what to expect of a woman. Woman have the ethics and reaction that their biology allows them to, towards dangers etc. Mary Wollstonecraft, one of the earliest feminist, said that man are better equiped to have high ethical behaviours : " Let it not be concluded that I wish to invert the order of things; I have already granted, that, from the constitution of their bodies, men seem to be designed by Providence to attain a greater degree of virtue." Mary Wollstonecraft

@@MohamedElouarda-qk6ws Well I don't believe one is superior over the other but that in general each has their strengths and weaknesses. But I will say amongst a good number of men as well as women that I've observed personally, men have not shown themselves so very virtuous nor ethical, not in the least, and while the women are by no means without faults they've shown much more stability, loyalty and sense.

Will we ever know the statistics, don't believe everything that is written, actions speak louder that words. He was i though the greatest, his leaving felt like a death..mom just continued doing what she always did.. working to support us,she scolded when needed but she never was mean or slaved us. Very wealthy town in NJ. The wife was very entitled and rude. He really did just buy her an insane house a few doors down from him. It’s disgusting that she tried to take his kids away from him, she hasn’t worked a day in her life and sits there with his money. Why do women let their emotions control the outcome of ruining their own kids lives just to spite their ex?

He’s right about showing pictures of his home. The standards have to be on par with the home of his wife. If your child has a king size bed when she lives with the mother dad can’t have a queen size bed at his home. 😮

Not directly related, but the son of actor Keenan Wynn wrote a book called, We Will Always Live In Beverly Hills. When he was a kid, Marlene Dietrich would drop over and bring cookies she baked. Judy Gsrland sang at his birthday party. Ned, the kid, eventually was at the center of every scene that was born in California. Rode motorcycles with Brando and Lee Marvin..was deep in to the surf scene, the music scene, the drug scene, but more into the alcohol scene. But this guy also met Charles Manson, dated Teri Garr, skied with Nicholson, was in charge of the Maharishi's butt pillow, and hung out with musicians in Laurel Canyon. It's a self effacing droll, comic eye on all this from a front row seat. Try ebay. There's so much more....

My ex left her Yahoo email open on my computer in my office. We had a policy of not hiding phones, texts, and we could swap when asked. That was about as open a relationship gets if two adults get when raising kids, needing to hold down that joint bank account. Of course, she learned previously that I could dig up her log files and catch her bragging other men that her intent was to take my kids and our home. It led to a harsher policy of openness. Marriage aint no joke, people. Dont do it if you cant bring the pain to the one who claims to love you. War of the Roses, its a Michael Douglas movie with elements of humor. Marvin Contract = not so funny, appropriate when... When other men email your wife professing their love, the day they fell in love 😉 Just cut the crappolini and orchestrate a menage a trois to help them become more confused and negotiate a quicky divorce and have her sign the waiver on all your property, IP, and future earnings. Slam dunk like Shaq! She gave away our company and all my work after the first film script she compromised when I found her log files, years before. The dude in the emails who was going through a midlife crisis, he dumped her and kicked her out of his house. Instead of me keeping a home for my family to fall back on, I just out everything on her to make it work. The pressure was too great for the other dude to deal with as his daighters didnt like my daughters and his soon-to-be ex wife went back to the U.K., creating a long bridge for the idiot to cross. If you follow the rules of energy, momentum, peace, happiness and self-respect can be yours.

I've seen too many men and know too many close to me with horror stories dating and marrying women. The vast majority of the end storyline does not end well for most. I haven't heard of a good excuse to get married, but the ones I know are successful, you hope aren't the exception.

This is what accountability sounds like. A lot of Women should take a page out of this book because it’s “never their fault.” Just sayin’ . and men, my brothers, the price of hoein’ up and/or being a shitty liar is high. Tough enough being a man as it is from regular life shit.

As a lawyer, and father who has gone through family court, he is right-we as men bring on a lot of our own misfortunes. And as long as we take responsibility of the good and bad, keep our heads up, and do the right things, we will forever be the better people-no matter the race, ethnicity, sex, or social-economic upbringing.
