Literally just yesterday I put in my two weeks' notice at a job where I was making great money, but I had to work 80 hours a week with only one (sometimes no) days off. No evenings, no weekends, and no holidays, but more money than I had ever made in my life. I took a personal day today to cool my head and get some sleep, since it didn't seem to matter anymore. Coming from a blue collar family in the Rust Belt, quitting any job makes me feel entitled, worthless and spoiled, and so I was walking around Walgreen's feeling like a lazy quitter when this song came on. Love IS something more precious than gold, and every day I work there is a day I will never have time for love or joy. Maybe I will never buy a beach house, but I will have time enough for the things that actually matter. Thanks, Chris. Sometimes it takes a poet to let you know you're on the right path.

My grandpa lost his son, which was his hunting buddy, best friend, etc. But I just lost my grandpa 2 years ago and he wanted to be cre-mated like his son. So he was, but holy goddamn. He hit me hard on the heart when he passed. But now, he gave most of his things to me, guns, cars, etc. which he gave me a 1931 Ford Model A. So grateful for all the things I have left of him.

I just sent this song to an amazing woman I had the good fortune of having had a brief (1 year) relationship with 37 yrs ago in Sweden. Because of the distance and my stupidity it abruptly ended. 2 weeks ago I got a phone call out of the blue and the phone said “Sweden” under a number, my heart fluttered as I thought, “it couldn’t be”, surely it couldn’t be Lotta. I answered and heard, “this is Lotta, do you remember me?”. It was an omg moment. We’ve talked almost everyday, texted and it’s apparent I’ve never stopped loving her. Since then, listening to music I was constantly looking for that one song that captured the intensity of how significant my feelings for her are. I’ve done things in my life that, along with the distance, makes any possibility of “us” almost impossible but this song, “Millionaire” expresses what I feel. It’s an amazing ability to be able to encapsulate in a song those feelings we struggle to adequately express. Beautiful song!

Early last winter there was a point where I was pretty broke after a bunch of gigs canceled on me at the last minute. My kiddo has a tendency to lose gloves like crazy. In the morning on the way to school she told me that her little fingers were cold. I savaged myself internally, feeling great shame that my daughter should have cold fingers. I knew I was broke but I knew I had to do something. I searched around in the console of my truck, in old suitcases and junk drawers and gathered a pile of grimy old coins. We drove to Walmart and went inside, where I scanned the aisles with rangy eyes while my daughter bounced around like a Sunbeam, full of joy and curiosity, unaware of my shame and sorrow. As I looked for a little pair of gloves I could buy for $5 or less, Chris Stapleton's song "Millionaire" came on the store stereo. I wept from deep within. That's what music is all about

I’ve had to learn things the “hard way” in life about chasing the dollar, so called “friends”, family, and just life in general. Money doesn’t make a man happy. Awesome kids, a great companion, an awesome boss with a heart of gold, compassionate, and loving. Working at a place where we are family and take care of one another ! Today is a little sad for me and I feel the sadness with my team. Today we lay to rest 2 dedicated family members at work. Life just isn’t fair and my heart is burdened for their families 😢 These are the things that I hold near and dear to my heart ❤

Chris, My friend of 19 years - Mike Marshall, a Marine who’s so earned my trust and motivation that I’m convinced I would’ve followed him off a cliff burning red with fire if he’d ever asked me to - just passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 4th. I didn’t find out until Sunday night when I was checking my text messages before bed. As I was driving to his funeral yesterday Millionaire came on my Chris Stapleton feed, and I cried all the way from San Marcos to Carlsbad to pick up my friend, whom we call Cap’t Mac. I went through a bottle of Visine so Mac wouldn’t see me crying. I must’ve listened to this song a million times since yesterday. The lyrics speak exactly to how I feel about my dear sweet wife, Melissa, and I wish I could have sung it to Mike’s wife yesterday, because I know he feels the same way about his wife, Tracie - and I could tell she could’ve used those lyrics. Well I played it enough now that I’ve learned it on my James Burton Telecaster with GE Smith pickups and my Fender Rhodes piano. As soon as I see my wife I’m going to play it for her. And the next time I see Mike’s wife, I’m going to sing it to her, from him. Thank you for the beautiful lyrics Chris. You are a talent and an inspiration. Keep doing what you are doing. The world needs it/you. Sincerely, David Falkenau

There’s this girl, I’ve always adored her. She has always been there in some way. So I guess that she is the woman in this song that I think of. Even though it’s been a while, I’ve always loved her in some way. Part of me may always wonder if she loves me back in the same way, but either way, I am lucky to stand in her light, and to be near is the riches that make me feel this way

They go together, if you're lucky. If I'd had more love, (parental) I can see some ways I mighta been a millionaire (literally.) This song is about settling, when you get down to it. Like "Nomadland," it's about pretending you're a happy loser. Music/Stapleton totally awesome.

I don't know how it's even possible, but country music can make me kinda nostalgic for a world I've never been and never seen. It calms down and gives a feeling of infinity of time as if our life is not so short at all. It gives me meaning and desire to keep living through this difficult time

This will be our first dance song for my wedding this August in Greece. My partner is a huge supporter of Chris. He has heard and discussed all his stories and praises the couple for singing together. Obviously, he got me in to it too straight away. Such an amazing voice. Would be an honour to dance to this. This has been our tune since we met.

Lyrics: They say "Love is more precious than gold" Can't be bought and it can't be sold I got love enough to spare That makes me a millionaire I got a woman with eyes that shine Down deep as a diamond mine She's my treasure so very rare She's made me a millionaire When we ride around, ride around this old town In my beat-up car, with the windows down People look at her and they look at me And say "That boy is sure living in luxury" Sweet luxury Because love is more precious than gold It can't be bought, no, never could be sold I got love enough to share That makes me a millionaire When the kisses fall from everywhere Life reaches on, millionaire When my pocket's are empty and my cupboard is bare I still feel like a millionaire 'Cause love is more precious than gold It can't be bought, no, and it can't be sold I got love enough to spare That makes me a millionaire

I'm an Aussie bloke who has had one hell of a shit storm of a life the last couple of years from divorce to my ex wife stopping me seeing my babies to being being pushed aside by the family court system here in Australia, topping it off had an accident at work and can no longer work all shattering me and my mental health to the point my life has been so empty I ended up on life support in hospital after disembodied suicide attempt where basically I was standing on the outside watching myself and there was nothing I could do to stop it. Then get out of hospital to find out that because my appointed lawyers couldn't be bothered my ex got full custody of my kids and has them calling another man dad trying to replace me in there lives and I have to pay for supervised visitation like I'm some sort of a monster. Your music sings to my soul and makes me feel again thankyou
