I'm so glad to hear someone give props to Morgan like she deserves. Chris blows you away and people are so enthralled that she is mentioned only as backup, and she is so much more. She is the muse, the inspiration for this song. And the looks between the two are so touching and sincere, it just takes the song to another level of real. Her voice is pure and clear and compliments his more grounded and grit sound. Thank you for a great reaction as always! Love and light always. ❤️🙏😇

Most people in the USA consider Chris Stapleton as a country singer but he is so much more! This man sings with soul, passion and pure heartbreak. He has pure Soul in that gritty voice with an incredible blend of Country, Blues, R&B and even some jazz drumming from his drummer. Loving the band, especially the harmonica. I think all music would be improved with the addition of a harmonica but that's just me. His runs are all different, and yet, each sounds amazing. I am not much a fan of country music but this man will bring me to country singing like that. There is another country, R&B combo that hits me in the heart and soul. Please listen to it and do a reaction, I think you'll love it. "Conway Twitty ft. Sam Moore - A Rainy Night in Georgia". You'll love me after listening to it.

Ok let me get this out of the way first thing. I am a big Chris Stapleton fan. I've had the immense pleasure of seeing him live. That said , many people are not aware that even though Chris has written a ton of songs for others before stepping out to start singing his own songs , he did not write this song. Written by Dean Dillon & Linda Hargrove they presented it to George Strait who passed on recording it. David Allen Coe decided to record it for his 1974 album of the same name. George Jones released his version in 1981 - 1982. Chris's version though is by far the most popular. However there are a lot of similarities with his version & the song "I'd Rather Go Blind" by Etta James including the opening guitar riff & tone. Maybe she was a big inspiration for him i don't know but if you listen to the two songs back to back you will see what i mean. I still love his voice & this version of Tennesse Whiskey anyway !
