Film Critic Chris Stuckmann gives his NON REVIEW of Madem Web (2024)
Stuckmann REFUSES to Criticize the Madame Web Movie, and chooses instead to put all the blame on Sony Pictures and Defend the Film Maker/Director SJ Clarkson. Pats himself on the back about how he is a POSITIVE voice in the industry. And how film makers are victims of evil movie studios/corporations. Clearly he did not like the movie, but due to him constantly submitting movie scripts to Hollywood... He obviously cannot criticize any Hollywood Projects in fear that he will burn some of those bridges! Truly a pathetic display. Thank you as always for watching! Collider went full woke with John Campea, John Rocha, Kris Harloff, etc. Stuckmann became garbage after 2016 with his Ghostbusters 2016 "review". I think TDS affected all of these people around 2016. Then you had the rise of excellent channels like Geeks and Gamers, Nerdrotic, Young Rippa, Ryan Kinel, Critical Drinker putting those channels to shame. Jeremy Jahns is still excellent though.

If that a true story. Is this man stupid? Like of course it takes effort to put together a movie, even a lazy thrown together piece of trash, takes a bit of effort to create. It really doesn't matter how much effort is put into the making of the film. At the end of the day the quality will remain the same. Sure it might be interesting to hear about how they created the film, to learn more in depth about why it was so good or bad. More so if you making your own stuff, so you know what to do/avoid.

Just because a movie is hard to make doesn't mean it is above criticism. The gatekeeping I saw over the weekend like "If you knew how hard it is to make a movie then you'd be a lot nicer, yada yada yada" was weird. While I do not agree with it, I do still understand Chris Stuckmann's line of thinking to rationalize refusing to review Madame Web. He believes that if you do not have anything nice to say about a film you just watched, do not say anything at all - in which case, Chris would say nothing about Cuties because saying anything nice about *that sort of film* almost feels illegal at this point in time, when anything nice to say about Cuties only serves to trivialize how Bien Ou Bien Productions exploited, harmed or inappropriately directed the kids starring in that film. BlackCriticGuy is not a creeper like mrgirl, but BlackCriticGuy still got plenty of well-deserved dislikes and negative comments for defending Cuties and making it seem like a deep and thought-provoking film that deserves some praise, because he ignored how abysmal Cuties truly is for not only trivializing the bad things the girls acting in Cuties were directed to do, but also for trivializing the heinous actions of Amy and still expecting us to see her as the hero of the story after multiple people - both among the Cuties girls and among her own family members call her out on her selfish and inappropriate behavior. Back to the topic of Madame Web, if Chris Stuckmann truly knows how hard it is to make a good film, then he should also know how easy it is to make a bad film and how easy it is to criticize a bad film. Since he can not give Madame Web any constructive criticism whatsoever, I will. Madame Web feels like a prequel to nothing. It should have given us a real reason to care about Cassandra Webb, Anya, Celeste and Julia by giving them unique personality traits and better emotional acting direction for us to distinguish them as different characters, but it never even did that right when the whole point of this story's setup is to give us a sense of the type of people they are before they get their superpowers and super heroine costumes. Ezekiel is a boring, undeveloped villain with no other legitimate motivation to be evil other than, he fears what the spider-girls will do to him in the future and has no real evidence that they can do that. I was surprisingly open-minded to Madame Web being a Spider-Man lite film that only has the essence of a Spider-Man film with no Spider-Man in it, but Madame Web's writers and directors had to care about developing their movie's own lesser-known main characters as a team, to prompt us viewers to care about watching what they were doing when Peter Parker was born, so we can imagine how Anya, Celeste and Julia can become a good team of superheroines in the future. I've been subscribed to Chris Stuckmann's channel since like 2010, and found some of his deep analysis, especially the Nicolas Winding Refn films like Drive and Only God Forgives, enlightening. But this was over a decade now, and another YT channel opened my eyes when they said that he actually says nothing in his so called movie reviews. He just describes the plot, throws around some cool adjectives, and is done with it. On one hand I understand not wanting to say bad things about your "colleagues". On the other... you are supposed to be a film critic, aren't you? Besides, you can and should give constructive criticism beyond "film = bad" and not come across like a douchebag.

Very few KZbin critics say as much about the films as Chris Stuckmann. Like 90% of them are just clickbaity "I hate everything because that makes me cool at this moment when negativity is the shit". These edgy ass video makers have nothing to say other than "it was poorly written" but then they can't even point out what was poor about the writing. You can find videos that are over an hour long but they still don't have anything real in them. But I guess nowadays people just love to hate. No wonder Stuckmann got tired of that trend and wants to focus on the positives. But ofcourse in the modern world that's something to be laughed at. Real men must be tough and mean and blah blah fucking blah

The playlist where he openly talked shit about people working both independently, and under the studio system. The playlist he used to help elevate his career, and now he’s going to just sit there and gaslight his audience into believing that he refuses to harshly criticise, because now he has something to lose. For example, on The Fanatic he says: “It’s a horrible movie, I mean, every decision is wrong. There are maybe two things about this movie, I actually sat back and thought ‘That’s a good idea,’ and we’ll talk about those in a sec, but my fucking god…” He a hypocrite.
