SO, HE’S NOT about bashing other filmmakers and artists? I wonder if anything on his Hilariocity playlist is monetised. The playlist where he openly talked shit about people working both independently, and under the studio system. The playlist he used to help elevate his career, and now he’s going to just sit there and gaslight his audience into believing that he refuses to harshly criticise, because now he has something to lose. For example, on The Fanatic he says: “It’s a horrible movie, I mean, every decision is wrong. There are maybe two things about this movie, I actually sat back and thought ‘That’s a good idea,’ and we’ll talk about those in a sec, but my fucking god…” He a hypocrite. Albeit a perfect fit for Hollywood.

Chris is a broken man now. It's so sad and you can see it in his eyes. I knew the moment he declared "I'm not gonna talk negatively about films anymore and do away with the grading system etc" that something was off. 'Do you think Rian Johnson cares about his audience?' Yes. I watch his films and TV work and I do see from the way he directs scenes that he has passion and drive and visual flair, none of which he would bother to utilise if he didn't want to make something that would be appreciated by an audience.

It's obvious he wants to stay positive to get in to Hollywood, but I don't think he realizes how quickly they're ready to replace him and others with AI. With how rapidly it's advancing, they will stop hiring new talent and just use AI for spec scripts from now on. He missed his window, they don't need him anymore. He may as well start bashing shit movies again, they're not giving him a job anytime soon.

I've been subscribed to Chris Stuckmann's channel since like 2010, and found some of his deep analysis, especially the Nicolas Winding Refn films like Drive and Only God Forgives, enlightening. But this was over a decade now, and another YT channel opened my eyes when they said that he actually says nothing in his so called movie reviews. He just describes the plot, throws around some cool adjectives, and is done with it. On one hand I understand not wanting to say bad things about your "colleagues". On the other... you are supposed to be a film critic, aren't you? Besides, you can and should give constructive criticism beyond "film = bad" and not come across like a douchebag.

Very few KZbin critics say as much about the films as Chris Stuckmann. Like 90% of them are just clickbaity "I hate everything because that makes me cool at this moment when negativity is the shit". These edgy ass video makers have nothing to say other than "it was poorly written" but then they can't even point out what was poor about the writing. You can find videos that are over an hour long but they still don't have anything real in them. But I guess nowadays people just love to hate. No wonder Stuckmann got tired of that trend and wants to focus on the positives. But ofcourse in the modern world that's something to be laughed at. Real men must be tough and mean and blah blah fucking blah

If he criticizes the wrong director, that's it, he's over. He won't be able to get funding. He wants to "celebrate" film making, which is just another way of saying he wants to be in the good graces of a big Hollywood studio.
