His current attitude can be applied to other things - "this steak tastes terrible, but its not my place to question the chef because i do not know whats it like to work in his kitchen and what is going on in his life." This is even worse because most of these directors are very well compensated. Not to mention if they do well, they will be heralded and celebrated by millions. I understand and respect Stuckmann position. There are currently around 946 videos destroying and making fun of the movie, and they'll keep coming. And they don't even have an unique perspective on it, they just keep repeating and piling on what people are saying. At this point, that's not film criticism, it's just hate for clicks. Stuckmann saw the movie, didn't like it, and chose to talk about from a different angle. What exactly did you want to hear from him? About your last point, everyone should decide for themselves if a movie is worth their money or not, but you don't need to keep chastising the creators or actors. Don't watch the sequel, or don't watch any Sony superhero movies going forward. But crying and complaining because you didn't like a movie and demanding some kind of "justice/compensation" is ridiculous. Bad movies will keep coming, from any studio. All of you Chris Stuckmann haters in the comments. You guys have no idea how much it hurts to be a creative person in an industry that doesn’t let you be creative, then get hated on for decisions you didn’t make but were ordered to change to keep your job. Sometimes so much behind-the-scenes politics are completely out of the filmmakers’ control, y’all have no idea. All Chris is doing is pointing this out. Just watching the movie, Madame Web feels so client/corporate meddled, he had to point it out. That’s the OPPOSITE of being a sellout. If you can’t understand why he made that video the way he did, then you have no respect for artists. As most people don’t these days…

A voice of reason. I agree with your take. I feel the internet reaction to Stuckmann's Madane Web video has been entirely blown out of proportion

It has to be the most frustrating thing in the world to get feedback from a charlatan who wants to push left ideology primarily and entertain dead last.

Is that really what Stuckman does?
@jeremiahwarden595910 ай бұрын
By the way, when you say you don't want to review a movie, you imply you didn't like it. It's like when you're asked "have you ever cheated on your boyfriend" and you refuse to answer. Everyone knows the answer then. If you hadn't cheated, you wouldn't refuse to respond.

Stuckman wants to get into the Hollyweird club, so criticizing their work would be the same as burning bridges with those clowns.
@darkwoods195410 ай бұрын
Stuckman is such an uncharismatic bore. I never understood his appeal. Now he won't even review films in case he burns bridges with people he may need in his attempts to be a film maker.

The points that were made in this video were literally agreeing with Chris Stuckman. All Stuckman did was skip the step where he talks about how bad the movie was.

The most surprising and what made me unsubscribe, was when he refused to review or even mention the movie, The Sound Of Freedom.

He’s a lefty, it pretty spineless to put out a statement like this. I watched some of his content back in the day and he absolutely had no problem panning movies. Making the argument that the support of a big studio makes the movie making process harder?!?! Lol, talk about reaching…..

Dean Cain ma, dude's a legend. I hope he has nothing but success for his comics and career.

I think what it all really boils down to is that Stuckman wants to make movies. Specifically he wants to get into hollywood eventually. And the idea of putting his own creative works out there and having them be shredded by critics terrifies him. I don't think he has the mental fortitude to withstand any real scathing critiques of his work. We have already seen him put out videos with is "ideas" for stories or changes to make to movies to improve them and they have been hilariously mocked for being terrible and he did not handle that well. So I really do think thats all it boils down to. The ironic thing is that by doing that and taking this stance he is just going to be putting a target on his back for people to go out of their way to review his work when they would otherwise have ignored it. And I also think he's positioning himself to adopt the "toxic fans" defense whenever his film eventually does fail. I can 100% see him doing that.

I already mostly ignored Stuckman. I will actively avoid him from now on.

So I get the sense that he wants to make nice to not alienate people in the film industry so he can move into that and not do film reviewing the rest of his career. I don’t blame him

I used to watch Chris Stuckmann (years ago) but I always thought he was pretentious. And this proved it. He's essentially bought by Hollywood. And also... he has no problem sh*tting on movies when it suits! - his "Hilariocity" series is dedicated to it and a lot of those films are small, independent films!

He's a simp can't you see it, I think Chris loves the 50 shades of grey and a massive fan of DJ so that's why he doesn't want to trash the movie that she's in I mean if hes gonna review every movies but not madam web then thats a bit to obvious don't you think

Chris Stuckman makes a sober criticism of the movie industry. KZbin's algorithim pushes videos that provoke anger and controversy. Therefore people make angry videos about Stuckman's low key video. I think I need to log off.

I’ve no idea how anyone watches Stuckman, he’s beyond a shill, if you’re a reviewer and you won’t review a bad movie then you shouldn’t be a movie reviewer. And Gabe is 100% correct & this is the most important issue in the industry, it’s the hiring of 22 year old female editors & execs straight out of college. They don’t know anything about anything, and it’s leading to all these terrible decisions.

I couldn't get into other versions of Superman because of Dean Cain. Which is not a bad thing. I watched his Superman show in the 90s, and that was pretty much it: Case settled, THIS is Superman. I wasn't even following it religiously, nor am I the biggest fan of the character. There were some stupid plot lines, but it just didn't matter that much. And nobody got agitated because a Eurasian (in terms of race, or rather this specific mixture) actor played Superman, because Dean was a perfect fit. It wasn't marketed as identity politics. I still think he's the perfect Superman, and perhaps that shows my age, but this truly was the most fun I ever had with that character.

One of his best videos was him destroying Dragonball Evolution. Back when I actually watched his videos. He's definately compromised since getting in bed with Hollywood and showing his film around.

So, didn't he technically give his review? By announcing this, he proved Madam Web's not worth it. Why even be a reviewer if you refuse to review the film?

I started working 20 years ago in the company I work at. If people from day 1 kept telling me how special and amazing I am,I wouldn't have grown one bit. I have been in a lot of trouble, then I was critiqued, and I learned to do things in the right way or in a different way to do it better. We must stop constantly kissing people's butts. They will never grow or get better. Movie reviews are only terrible if you don't listen or learn from them.
@slowpoke858510 ай бұрын
Chris Stuckman always came off as being weak willed. Like, he’s so afraid of saying ANYTHING negative of anything ever. I go to reviewers for an honest opinion because I want to know if it’s worth spending my money on something.
