Hungering is harmfull, overeating too and also is only eating certain kinds of food, making food a religion, bulimia or sports addiction etc. All of that has something to do with an unhealthy body attitute or underlying issues like trauma etc.

I am honestly wondering how tammy can be so cofortable yelling around gage.... Of course he cannot remember active later, but these environments can easily implement in his brain giving anxieties and fears, trust issues etc.. Children are reaaaally sensitive. Chris on the other hand is completly awesome and i think that is why gage didn't cry. Although he is furious himself, he pats him so gently, making sure he is ok and talks in a soft voice for him.

That’s not how addiction works. She’s miserable she’s not enjoying having to be taken care of. When you have an addiction it takes top priority in your life to the point your life becomes unmanageable all together. But even with that the power of addiction is so strong you continue despite the negative consequences. As long as she has an enabler in her life she will never get better. She doesn’t just seek these men for attention but because she knows they’ll enable her.

But as much as it hurts she needs to face reality at some point. I feel for Tammy, I'm sure she's really scared, it's not easy to give up whatever has been your coping mechanism. I'm NOT saying Tammy's family is doing anything wrong, I'm confident that they want the best for her. The tough-love method puts Tammy on the defensive. I wish Tammy could understand that no one is trying to take anything away from her, she can still have fun, enjoy life, and have her independence. The point of the therapist is to help Tammy deal with her trauma and she won't be forced to immediately change everything that brings her comfort and happiness. I feel like the stumbling block for Tammy is her feeling like she won't have control over her life anymore if she accepts therapy. Control is extremely important for those who've suffered trauma. Confronting Tammy is dangerous because it backs her into a corner, and makes her feel like control is being taken away. Tammy's therapist would do well to explain that Tammy would be in control of her therapy and her recovery & that no one wants to take that away. I could say much more but this is already too long. Hang in there, Tammy!!!

Seems as if Tammy does not want the help and resources @ her feet. She’s had MULTIPLE CHANCES to get it right. Personal experience; I suffer from depression and PTSD and weighed 218lbs the highest I’ve ever been. I am now in therapy, I have a job and I am down to 15lbs already. Tammy is letting her depression win and that is not healthy. She herself has to want it, Chris and amy can talk till they blue in the face, if Tammy don’t want help, that is her choice but you CANNOT sit there and complain about how your family doesn’t help… clearly she’s only seeing what her depression wants her to see.
