It's fair to say many people would say Chris Wilder deserved to return to management as a Premier League manager such is the respect he gained after the job he did at Sheffield United, so Middlesbrough have pulled off a coup getting Wilder to come to the club
My thoughts, including
- A straight talker who should appeal to Boro fans
- A progressive coach as well as a great manager
- Gratitude for Warnock but a change was needed
- No guarantees of success and bringing belief back to the Riverside

Wilder has a magical touch like Brian Clough. You’ll be laughing in amazement when previously average players at Boro quickly look like very efficient players looking good within a well oiled team unit. Wilders teams play good attacking football but it’s formulaic where every player knows their exact role instead of relying on individual brilliance. The Northampton fans warned us when he joined SU, they said he was a miracle worker and took them from bottom of league 2 to being run away champions playing great football in 2 seasons. Then he joins SU and takes a team that finished mid table in league 1 to being 6th in the PL challenging for Europe in 3 seasons, with many of the same league 1 players. It’s truely incredible and also his pre and post match interviews are worth a listen, he galvanises the fans, doesn’t stand for any nonsense from his players. He’s a winner and Boro are very lucky. You’ll see…..

Don't give him money! He bought some right wasters for a lot of money like Mcburnie and Brewster

It was almost a fairytale really wasn’t it? Getting you up from League One to the Prem was out of this world on that budget, that first season was the stuff of dreams….if any manager had done that you’d build a statue…but then when it’s someone who supports the club and is one of your own. The stars aligned! I so wanted Tony Mowbray to be that for us a few years back!

A couple of bad decisions recruitment wise, a run of bad results and thats probably enough for a side on such limited resources in the strongest league in the world to drop off - fine margins but massive consequences. Probably more to it but that’s how I saw it

Great vlog mate wilder is exactly what we need I've said this since he was in league 1 with shef United and even more so in the championship and prem" then overlapping defenders with basham etc was a joy to watch" he might need a bit of time to get it right bit for me of he could get us up in the next 1-3 years if be buzzing

Thanks pal, and yeah I agree that the Blades were great to watch under him....didn't play just percentages football but took the time and the risks to innovate. Takes time I agree and I'd gladly take another season at this level if it meant he built the foundations for a few years where we could mix it with the PL clubs
