The way you broke down the ff2 makes it sound super simple. Either SSL and block or jab her right after the first hit. Playing it any other way presents higher risk-reward, but exposes you to her mix-up. Great video.

Bro, her FF2 is not the end all be all of Tekken. It's literally just a string with some decent options. Reina is not an S tier character. Meanwhile you have characters like Alisa, Feng, Drag, Azucena, Jin, Law omg the list just goes on and on, so many bullshit moves mental stacking you into oblivion.

You can backdash sen.3 and its safe against sen.2 and sen.4 since you dont crouch. Not sure if there are backdash fuzzy crouch timings to beat the grab/low option

In all seriousness, great vid. As a Reina player it helps knowing what counterplay my opponents may have for her moves. Can't wait for counterplays for other characters, Dragunov, Hwaorang and Eddy are matchups I struggle with personally.

I think it’s not so much the guessing, kid how easy it is for her to get in with FF2. It *is* step able but that can be really inconsistent depending on range

@@Chris_F when you have to stand there and constantly block and guess and die something is wrong. Other characters have clear moves or 3 or 4 hit strings and you then take your turn. With her it’s constant fast unreactable strings into stance into strings…. Never ends. Worse than hwoarang tbh.

I was just saying more along the lines of like, if I were to balance this in an upcoming patch, I’d probably make FF2 harder to use in neutral rather than nerf her options after. This way, good players can deal with it by playing better neutral and avoiding getting out into a mixup in the first place

I hate characters like Reina and Jun where you can't really tell if their combo is over, because their animations are simultaneously waaay to acrobatic (usually signifying an end to a string/combo) and quick (allowing for stringing or comboing further). And this is coming from a Lars main.

You can either commit to block or disrespect her + frames with something like a dickjab

Against characters with really good lows. Dragunov, feng, devil jin/jin, lili and kazuya come to mind. You wouldnt default to low block against them, but you’ll need to block low more often since they get really good reward after their lows

@@jayishikawa4150 nope, in tournaments I ALWAYS coin flip for P1 side agaist Mishimas. They are way too good if they pick P1, they shut you down... Although it is possible to crouch cancel and SSL on P2 but you need hitbox/mixbox for that.
