you can also use delayed buttons in a different way to cover the counter play to the previous usage. if you think they will delay pressure but arent sure you can time your button so that if they go for a button right away it will be blocked but if they delay they will get meatied. this however makes it so they can grab you easier.

i just added to my arsenal the tek, i was being demolish by walk ins and jump ins pressure on platinum 4. the other thing it help me, is creating spacing in neutral with a dash back here and there to mess with their attack spacing

Good info. Wonder if I should try some since they can lose to things. The Blanka once looks tough. Hit MP or block when he does a Ball, & hope it's L. Maybe I can get it to work. Thanks for the vid.

Nice vid, ready to give these a shot. Also I have a dumb question but I haven't been able to find a good vid on this, so maybe a topic for beginners that hasn't been hit lol. Watching tourney play, I regularly see people leave a minute gap in a combo and get punished, i.e. suddenly the person who was getting combo'd gets out a super, or gets a normal out and confirms into a combo of their own. In my experience I am a bit spooked to hit buttons while getting combo'd, from fear of a counter hit into another combo. Any ideas on what you should be doing while actively getting beat to death? I feel like exploiting the opponent's combo gaps could be great, but how do you mash that safely? Thanks!

You should not be scared of getting hit mid combo unless the opponent drops the combo or is looking for a reset (dropping on purpose to restart the combo). Lots of people mash OD dp or super while getting comboed to fish on these 2 situations. If the opponent catches on what you did, they will try to bait it too. Safest tool in my opinion is to delay jab if you're expecting the reset or the drop.
@Chris_F
@Chris_F 11 ай бұрын
Someone answered this in the comments before I could get to it. Mashing super or something during a combo is a strategy for sure, but smart opponents will blow you up for this if they notice you’re always doing it.

So basically when opponent jump against his / her empty jump / low attack do a delayed throw OS after blocking first the jumping attack? And in the blanka scenario, you should calculate the "ball hitting moment" properly to low block then inmediately input the low+attack? What i mean, if you don´t time it properly the low attack will be released and can be whiff punished ? I thank you in advance! Great stuff this three OS! Excellent vid!

How are the situations at 3:23 and 3:40 different? In both situations, your opponent is walking back, right? Why does on situation result with your opponent blocking your button, and the other situation result in your opponent getting a whiff punish on your whiffed button?
@Chris_F
@Chris_F 9 ай бұрын
The example at 3:23 will stop people walking FORWARDS for a throw, the one at 3:40 is a shimmy walking BACKWARDS

Well made video ! But we can only see that there is no "good answer" in term of defense, espacially with "no dragon" characters. And I arrived at the conclusion of me hating some of this game mechanics and finally the game itself. Gambling is not fighting.
@Chris_F
@Chris_F 4 ай бұрын
Not to defend the system mechanics too much but most fighting games boil down to gambling to some degree once you get past low intermediate ranks

@@Chris_F First SF for me (modern got me lol). I'm Plat by now ? But jumping monkeys and throwloops still give me cancer. It's like, playing against Diams is chill in comparaison (even if my ass is getting kicks xD). Maybe it was because it wasn't online back in the day but DOA and SC never give me those feelings (for what I remember ?).
@Chris_F
@Chris_F 4 ай бұрын
@vincentmenard1682 1) anti air ppl who jump to much 2) in play, throw loops are a symptom of the main issue: letting yourself get cornered. Try to fix up your neutral game and you won’t have to deal with throw loops at all (this becomes much harder to do post master rank)
