Been cutting my own hair tapers and fades for 33 years and I'm 50 with a head full of hair textured like yours. Any money saved is worth my time. However, if I knew a barber who cut the way you do, it would be worth the time saved once a month. Not every barber knows how to cut like that. Keep up the great work though my dude!

I started cutting my own hair since quarantine and I'm never going back. It's not the money saved or convenience. It takes way longer and it's a huge hassle. But I have a wack head shape, wack hairline, and tons of indents and fat lumps and shit that make it really hard for people to cut my hair.
@gilbertoflores73974 жыл бұрын
Yo, same thing. I'm afraid to go to a barber, they'd probaby be wanting a grand from me if they cut my hair; because of how odd my head is. I have divets with dark spots and some thinner hair patches on the side of my head, a few scars. And some major rolls on the back. It really takes tons of time and talent to get it all even looking. Had to learn to do it myself because no one could ever get it looking right, due to all the work that was needed.

You educate, and instill confidence in whoever watches you. My man did get better but this cut, was not what’s up!! The fade anyway. His sheer work looked like it worked but....that dark line. It’s hard enough cutting someone else’s hair where you can see all the angles, that’s why I’m glad I’m bald, sometimes....lol! Stay blessed bro!!

For me personally, i feel like i need to go through all clipper attachments when fading. I need to use the #1.5, #1 and the #0.5 guards. I feel like its more of an ocd thing for me but it really does create a much better fade using all the guards than it does compared to guard skipping. Ive seen the difference of good quality barbers fades from guard skipping to using every guard and there is definitely that difference even if its minor fractions of millimetres. The fade definitely turns out better.

From my own experience bro the barbers where I live don't listen to what I want and never cut my hair right so I don't have any confidence in them. I went to university in a different city and I found a great barber there but I couldn't always afford to get my hair cut living on a student budget. So based on these two things I had to learn how to cut my own hair

Also yeah, his fade came out wack. That was the hardest thing for me to get down as a self-cutter was doing a fade all the way around. It’s easier to start with a temple taper. But 2 years later my fades are clean as hell and I’m looking good for cheap.

I have to 🗣 it... your argument regarding "I go to the 💈 because I rather save my ⏳ than my 💰" just don't hold 🆙️ & here's why: When someone else do your yard, clean your 🏡, your 🏊🏻♂️ or maybe even your 🚗 the fact is that your physical presence isn't needed so you really can do something else more productive or enjoyable for you. But when it comes to 💇🏻♂️ you really can't do anything else because your physical presence is needed. There's no way you can really do something else, except maybe reading something so your options are rather limited. Then the only thing you can save in this scenario is 💰 because we've shown that you ⏳ can't be put to a better use. Surely the barber will outperform you in the beginning because you'll be 🐢 but after 4️⃣➕ self 💇🏻♂️ you'll begin spending the same ⏳ and we also have to realize that with the self 💇🏻♂️you don't need to spend ⏳ driving to the 💈 waiting your turn, returning 🏡, etc. Also, the barber will outperform you regarding giving you a great 💇🏻♂️ as you correctly 🗣 but the reality is that you'll begin improving after 4️⃣➕ self 💇🏻♂️ Maybe you'll never reach the same level because it's harder to self 💇🏻♂️ but you must admit (you actually did) that the guy you reacted is now getting pretty good fades.
@Bossiocuts4 жыл бұрын
It’s takes much longer to cut your own hair, the clean up sucks I’ve done it, the learning curve is much longer than learning how to mow a lawn. It took my 3 years to be able to do a fade with no lines.... so you’re right you aren’t saving as much time as the pool cleaning scenario but you’re saving time and convenience.....and the biggest factor is you’re leveraging someone’s skillset... could you do your own taxes and get better at it over time sure.... would I recommend it, no. Leverage someone’s expertise if it matters enough to you. If it doesn’t, more power to you and if you enjoy doing taxes than even better go for it! But to do your own taxes because you’re frugal, I’d say there are way better things to focus on to save money than a $10-$20 haircuts🤷🏽♂️. No after 3 try’s of cutting your own hair you aren’t going to be good lol, unless you’re like the contestants on American idol that sound horrible but really believe they are great .
@MarPabl4 жыл бұрын
@@Bossiocuts I'm not being frugal 😕 Indeed I would have never considered doing a self 💇🏻♂️ but then enter the 👑🦠 (you'll understand the emojis because you 🗣🇪🇸) I didn't want to but I had to after 3️⃣ months wait with all 💈 closed and no 🎲... now I actually enjoy it because for me it was a challenge learning a 🆕️ skill & TBH going to the 💈 is now a pain in the @$$ because social distancing restrictions in my country 👎🏼 I know I'll never ever reach your proficiency because you literally have 1000s of 💇🏻♂️ experience... that considering you've been @ this like 4️⃣➕ years and you also train 🆕️ barbers. I believe and I totally understand that you needed years to learn doing a good fade. However, the barber's community is interesting these last years because you 💜 sharing your work. I'm sure when you started there was not as much 📽 to 👁 but in my case I built my own training that consisted in 👁 maybe 2️⃣0️⃣➕ hours worth of barbers doing self 💇🏻♂️and reviewing clippers, trimmers, shavers and sometimes even ✂️ (that was the hardest to find) so I've never screwed myself when I had to start 😅 granted the lowest I go is a #️⃣2️⃣ but I've never quite liked fades anyway 🤔 Lastly, I'm not sure how it was years ago, but nowadays the clippers have made it easier to create a fade. Now being cordless and with levers having 5️⃣ intermediate steps and a bunch of attachment combs, it's easier to achieve the fade. No need for the hard to master clipper over the comb or fade with ✂️ techniques...
@ASHOEFORDREW3 жыл бұрын
I take way too long to run a cordless clipper lol probably takes me like 2 hours
