I don't get the hate. I'm a fairly long time Soundgarden fan as well as a fan of other Seattle/grunge era bands and Audioslave and the rest of Cornell's solo rock albums. Went to one of the 1st shows for this tour and when the music started , I was among the many going "W...tf?" Picked up the cd a couple days after and gave it a few listens and its become a continual favorite of mine. I used to say that Chris Cornell could sing the phone book and I'd love it. Apparently he can sing anything.

All I'm saying is that had it not been for this song, I probably would not have known who Chris Cornell was. And I certainly would not have been exposed to his other body of work. Please stop hating. This is what artists do, they are creative creatures who experiment and push boundaries from time to time. We may not like it, but it at least attracts new fans which equals an increase in album sales. Rest In Peace Mr Cornell.

brenda jackson Do you listen to alternative rock of any kind? It's cool this was the song that brought other cultures on his scene. Thats the beauty of music.
@brendajackson137 жыл бұрын
Raul Flores I used to listen to a lot of Alternate Rock in the 90s, my favourite radio station at the time would play tons of it. Then they changed strategy and started including other genres to attract a wider audience and Alternate Rock became less of a priority. But that is a lousy excuse to not listen to it now, I should make an effort to find it...at the very least online.

They had great names (and it's rare) with significant and simple meaning (thanks to Chris) and amazing songs that sounded like no one else. I would love your input on our last video from our first album. It got the attention of one of my heroes Joe Bouchard (ex bass player founding members of BÖC) who is following us on Soundcloud but returns from people who likes same music is always the best. I wasn't a fan of this album or song when it came out but as I let time pass and I come to it, I realize how much of a musical genius Chris is. The man was always outdoing himself and breaking down the walls that would commercially confine you. He did not sell out. It honestly makes sense that he did this album, it was right up his alley. How could we expect him not to do this? His sound was ever evolving. Who knows where he would have gone in time. RIP Chris, you meant more than you know.

did a whole album and its amazing! This isn't the best song on it by far...so so many of the songs from it are absolutely gorgeous. Check out the full "scream" album. A great experimental and successful foray into new spaces that still spiritually feels very much a part of Chris' ethos. The entire album also conceptually never has a pause in music and has great experimental and sweeping interludes between each song so the entire thing is intended to be a complete immersive journey without any cuts.

Sorry to disappoint all of you, but I like it. Why do we have to pigeon hole artists into one specific genre?
@MegaLotusEater8 жыл бұрын
+litew8 We're not pigeon holing him. CC experimented with all kinds of different styles with Soundgarden including metal and punk and electronic sounds. He experimented with soft ballads with Temple of Dog and Euphoria Morning. And it was all amazing. So clearly this has nothing to with 'pigeon holing'. The issue here is that this song is shitty. Really shitty. Repetitive, dull, generic and insulting to women

The Chris Cornell "fan base" is hilarious to me. He starts experimenting with new sounds and everyone jumps ship. It's fine if you don't like this style of music he tried, many of his classic fans wouldn't, but to say he isn't right for this music or this is a midlife crisis or whatever is ridiculous - he's just branching out! And in my opinion, I'd rather hear Chris Cornell sing electro-pop than any other artist. Hell, I'd rather hear Chris Cornell singing almost any song. I too prefer his regular style, but I enjoyed this for what it was.

+Tristan Neal CC has been experimenting with new sounds throughout his entire career with Soundgarden, and with Temple of the Dog, and then with Euphoria Morning, and we all loved all his different styles, because it was all amazing music. But this R&B song is shitty and infantile. So we criticise it. ok buddy?

Revisiting this music video after many years. And I have forgotten about the part where Chris makes an entrance in a black suit. Hot damn! He was gorgeous! Chris was one of a kind - talented and so good-looking.
