Hey Chris! I'm not sure if you're aware, but the key mechanisms in the 94-04 Mustangs require you to push that little lever right above the key to actually release it. I don't know if not doing such thing could harm the mechanism, but just wanted to let you know.
@SirKittyMcMittens8 жыл бұрын
I wish I saw your comment. i just commented the same thing. He's running the risk of having his key fall out while the car is running.
@pvogel8 жыл бұрын
Alex Rascon Yeah, I didn't know if there was an specific risk, but I knew it couldn't be healthy for him to just yank on the key like that.

One year ago I bought a queen garage 2003 Lincoln Town Car Signature Trim with 30,000 miles. The car was sitting in the garage for 7 years since the passing of the owner (a doctor by the way). The car had like two inches of dust and a flat tire. I just clean one window to see the clear like new interior and decided to get it. First I went to buy a brand new battery, secondly, I check the oil level, third I disconnected both coils and then cranck the engine on and off to "circulate the oil" after that I connected the coils, start the engine and there you go a complete silence engine running like a cat purr.

You are very lucky the fuel did not turn to varnish or vinegar or you would be writing something very different. Congrats

@@patrickstenson830 wait what?! What would happen? I have had the same full tank of gas in my old Nissan that I haven't driven since 2020. I have started it about 3, possibly 4x since then, just by charging the battery, making sure oil level was fine and it started each time. It wasn't until my brother said if it sits longer than 6 months I could blow the engine. That's what led me here, because now it's been a full year since I moved it... I thought just dumping a can of seafoam or octane boost would be ok, now I'm worried lol
@patrickstenson83011 ай бұрын
You can add a bottle of seafoam or fuel stabilizer. Because the deposits in gasoline will settle in your tank, then get stirred up again when the fuel pump turns on. It can clog up your carburetor or your injectors.@@cadavher

One more thing to check guys is the air box. Like Chris said, lots of animals could nest inside there and you don't your engine sucking up nests. So just open it up and make sure there are no nests in there, and just dust off the air filter while your at it.

Had an Audi A4 1999 B5 quattro that sat for 4 years put a starter in it, fuel pump and filter. I had it idling but stalled when given any throttle, I chalked it up to wiring issues such as a TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) and took it to Volkswagen for them to fix it but they hit it with their snow plow instead. Best of luck with yours Rip Audi

@@chrisfix did I miss you checking the transmission fluid?
@natedawg4554 жыл бұрын
@@D-NICE33 It is not necessary to check transmission fluid if you are just starting an engine. The engine is disengaged from the transmission when starting; you could remove the transmission and would still be able to start the vehicle. It only becomes necessary to check transmission fluid when you are ready to drive the vehicle. The process for that (on an automatic transmission) is to warm up the vehicle and check the fluid dipstick while the engine is idling in neutral or park. On a manual transmission, you need to remove the inspection cover or stick your finger through the fill hole. You do not need to warmup the vehicle if you are checking a manual transmission.

You forgot the most important part of the oil filter change. Lube up the seal ring on the new oil filter with some fresh oil to prevent it from binding/breaking when you tighten the filter down.

Searched for the clue of humming bird's death. "Ethylene glycol is the ingredient that makes antifreeze tasty. Though colorless and odorless, the syrupy alcohol derivative-which is excellent at lowering the freezing points of vital engine fluids-has a sweet taste that jibes well with soda, juice, and other sugary beverages." Maybe this?
