I remember watching this video when it came out several years ago when I had purchased my first car and I had no idea how to fix anything on it. Watching your videos gave me confidence and knowledge and yesterday I just bought an '04 mustang. I'm really excited to have the knowledge and the ability now to feel comfortable with cars. Thanks for what you do.

How in the hell can so many people dislike your videos. I love watching your videos. You're the only person I've seen that goes into such detail in how to fix a problem. Which tools to use and what to look for in diagnosing the problem. To date, you have saved me over a thousand dollars by me fixing my own truck. If you had stock, I would so buy some. You rock Chris! Keep up the good work. You're a true blessing.

Hey Chris! I'm not sure if you're aware, but the key mechanisms in the 94-04 Mustangs require you to push that little lever right above the key to actually release it. I don't know if not doing such thing could harm the mechanism, but just wanted to let you know.

I'm about to get my precious car back from a 2-year impound, and I really don't want to damage the internals, when doing so. Thank you for doing this great, informative video (with clear and concise instructions)! I hope you're getting paid well for these videos, because you sure deserve it!

For emergencies in good weather conditions, sure. How about a completely dead battery... at -20 F? It gets good reviews on Amazon, but one user had his die after owning it a few months. Personally, I would invest my money on a good set of jumper cables or a decent charger / jump starter instead of a toy that might break after a few months.
@hugeslacker
@hugeslacker 8 жыл бұрын
+phiksit so one breaks and they're flimsy? Even snap on tools have defects. I'm not saying it's great in extreme conditions, because I haven't used one in extreme conditions... But extreme conditions are... Well, extreme. Every day conditions, I'm sure this is fine for the average person. And that's the majority of people surprisingly. Sure you should have jumper cables, you should have a good charging system in the first place.. But the average person, not the youtube experts, they don't think of those things. And for people like me, who wouldn't mind having one under the rear seat next to the jumper cables just in case.. Why not?

One year ago I bought a queen garage 2003 Lincoln Town Car Signature Trim with 30,000 miles. The car was sitting in the garage for 7 years since the passing of the owner (a doctor by the way). The car had like two inches of dust and a flat tire. I just clean one window to see the clear like new interior and decided to get it. First I went to buy a brand new battery, secondly, I check the oil level, third I disconnected both coils and then cranck the engine on and off to "circulate the oil" after that I connected the coils, start the engine and there you go a complete silence engine running like a cat purr.

@@patrickstenson830 wait what?! What would happen? I have had the same full tank of gas in my old Nissan that I haven't driven since 2020. I have started it about 3, possibly 4x since then, just by charging the battery, making sure oil level was fine and it started each time. It wasn't until my brother said if it sits longer than 6 months I could blow the engine. That's what led me here, because now it's been a full year since I moved it... I thought just dumping a can of seafoam or octane boost would be ok, now I'm worried lol

Years later, I got hit by a drunk driver and had to get the car repaired and the whole front dash ended up coming off. When I looked at my finished car, the mechanic showed my something he found wedged in the passenger side floor fan......It was, in fact, a dead, crunchy bird. I knew that I saw something fly into my car that day years prior. It just took 5 years, an accident and a mechanic to prove me right.

@@D-NICE33 It is not necessary to check transmission fluid if you are just starting an engine. The engine is disengaged from the transmission when starting; you could remove the transmission and would still be able to start the vehicle. It only becomes necessary to check transmission fluid when you are ready to drive the vehicle. The process for that (on an automatic transmission) is to warm up the vehicle and check the fluid dipstick while the engine is idling in neutral or park. On a manual transmission, you need to remove the inspection cover or stick your finger through the fill hole. You do not need to warmup the vehicle if you are checking a manual transmission.

I have an 83 gmc Suburban with a 6.2 an when i got that truck i was 21 at the time. An didnt run for almost 13 years? I want thur everything. The only problem for my truck Were the glow plugs. I never change my oil because the fliter is like wielded to the block. An has 450000 Miles on it. But still runs
