Hi temp foam rubber works just as well, if not better. Just make sure to use 2 cups titanium chips in the block after draining oil and before smoke reving it. I've seen some guys drain the oil and forget the chips and rev it to the floor for 30 minutes. It smokes and squeals and auto shuts off fine. But it loses a little power after that. Sometimes just playground sand works too. But then you have to take out the plugs, grind off the thread build up before hammering back into the heads. But thats about the only way to get the sanding powder into the cylinders

So be.. I looked up piston return springs trying to figure out if these were a real thing. Then I come across this gem of video, and For ten minutes I thought well, I guess I just have a lot more to learn than I thought. I seriously was questioning everything I thought I knew. Between Chris’s and Jamie’s channel, i almost started looking up if I should consider doing this on my own build haha. Nice work guys. And thanks for the years of knowledge you’ve shared with us all. It’s changed my life in so many ways. The money I’ve saved over the years, not to mention the maintenance I didn’t know I needed to do until watching your vids. Plus the knowledge and confidence doing some of these jobs has given me. I’m just seriously grateful for what you do. I’ve been following much of your work and over the years while slowly growing my knowledge, and I’m about to venture into my first ever engine rebuild. Hopefully it goes well haha. Thanks again Chris!

Guys at parts stores are so onto it, they'll say "just sold the last one. Its gonna be 3 weeks for the next one. Eyedropper wouldnt work huh?" "Uh..well I figured I'd just get a new one anyways" After 15 minutes walking around the store, "So um..its been so long since I tried an eyedropper...how do you do it?" "The same way as the old way". By now theyre freaking out. " just fill an eyedropper 1/2 way with warm water. NOT TOO WARM THOUGH. VERY IMPORTANT. 2 grains of salt, put 1 drop on the end of you turn signal every 5 minutes for two hours. Mortens salt works best".

In Mexico we reuse BED SPRINGS, they have the same compression rate and are cheaper. That's where they get you on the cost. By the way I just did this on the wife's car, Now I have to do it on my truck, sucks because I have to remove the fusion drive and the continuum transfunctioner.
