What a great video, thank you. I moved from Boston MA to New Albany Indiana back in 2016, I absolutely LOVE living here. I have never looked back to living in any big city again. My quality of life is ten fold. There's plenty of great paying jobs here and the cost of living is cheap. It's super quite and peaceful here. I sit outside for hours and am blown away at how quiet it is. If you're looking for a night life or bigger, more store's it's only a 15 minute drive across the bridge to Louisville. I couldn't have made a better choice moving here

Was nice seeing this. As a New Albany native, I was naming the streets on you were on before you did. When you were commenting on the Harvest Homecoming, you should have done that when passing the Mural , not to mention nothing of the Post Office or National Guard facilities. I think you should do a part two with better historical info and maybe attend the Harvest Homecoming festival and see for yourself how big it is.

Never would have considered Indiana for a possible relocation before your video! I'm looking at one last move. Really want to move to Florida like many people my age. But most recently I moved to Northwest Arkansas and the climate in New Albany isn't that much worse. Rent is affordable and it looks like they have relatively dependable mass transit; very important in the scheme of things. Thanks, Chris.

Yeah crime here isnt that big of a deal. Somebody might break in to your car at some point but that's about the extent, unless you are looking for it. It's a small city, but it's a suburb of a major city. Literally directly across the river are violent gangs and drug violence, a couple hundred homicides a year, and all the other big city problems that exist. It's very peaceful here tho. Very diverse as well.

The weekly Farmers Market and the October Harvest Homecoming festival are both awesome and DO attract visitors from all over. Has much as I dislike New Albany, there is history and at the time of your video there was a upcoming event on the river and that's why there was so many port-a-potts. Did you fail to notice decorations and the food/beer trucks. Also you should have mentioned New Albany loves to support it's local alcoholics with the about 10 bars in a 10 block radius. Not restaurants, bars. The generic skate park.

Great place to live when it comes to peace and some restaurants. The community is not good for work opportunities for minority administrators or managers in most situations. It is a very white-only type of club. Most minorites have to leave the community for employment. Luckily Louisville is across the water and opportunities are there.

What is it with the snarky approach? As someone born and raised in New Albany, I have a number of comments regarding your "review" of my hometown. First , the Ohio River's color comes from the fact that it carries a lot of sentiment. Also, you don't swim in the river because the current is very strong. Second, your snarky comment regarding the port-a-potties disregards the fact that they were put there for a festival, probably July 4. Third, you only drove around a very small part of the total city. Third, part of your video in the Knobs is not even in New Albany. Fourth, your assertion that many who attend IUS move away is categorically wrong since many of the professionals in the area received their degrees from IUS and about 20% of IUS's students are from Louisville because of a reciprocity agreement between Indiana and Kentucky.
