QATAR - It's NOT What You Expect! 🇶🇦

Qatar, the host of the 2022 FIFA World Cup got a lot of bad press in the West at the time.
I came to Doha الدوحة, The capital of Qatar قطر, with an open mind, to see what Qatar was all about beyond that.
What I found surprised me - I really enjoyed my time in Doha!
Public transport is pretty decent, you can walk without needing a car, and taxis are cheap and available when the public transport isn't.
On top of that there's enough great tourist sites to make it a lot of fun.

@moreibi90 Thank you! One of my current ideas is actually to film each of the Emirates in UAE, which would include visiting Al Ain. I'm just not sure there would be enough interest and views. Most people don't look any further than Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

That's fair point regarding what gets clicks, although perhaps Al Ain could be covered in the Abudhabi episode given it's in the same Emirates. I reckon it'd also be interested to see episodes about other Emirates theresnt much there online outside of Dubai and Abudhabi which I think would be interesting to see!

The most special thing about Qatar is its cleanliness, and while you might hear this often, it is something you truly grasp only when you see it in person. Many countries in vlogs appear pristine thanks to editing tricks and clever camera placement, even in Europe and the USA. Having traveled extensively, I can confidently say that’s not the case with Qatar. It looks clean because it truly is-even the most secluded corridors of that traditional souq you see in the video are impeccably spotless.

i surprisingly liked your video. been living here for the past 16 years and i also thought souq waqif was fake at first. it's because they rebuilt it and made it look like a traditional souq, although some of the older buildings still stand (i know the bismillah hotel is still the same). as i stayed here longer, i realized that it is a real and actual working souq that just looks artificial (the normal 'modern' souq is across the road around the spiral tower). what i appreciate about it more is that it's not totally geared for tourists even if it is one of the main tourist attractions. yes, there's a handful of souvenir shops for tourists but most of the stores there are for everyday things residents of qatar would buy and restaurants serve food that they usually eat. prices are ok too i have been to authentic, traditional towns were every ancient house either has only stuff they try to sell for tourists or have to charge an entry fee but people don't really live there anymore. i find those more sad

25:09 It is not a Christmas ball, it is a headgear acient pearl divers used for diving for pearls. Qatar is honoring it's past, from where they have come. And Souq Waqif looks old new because old Souq burned down some time ago and they tried to restore it in typical arab style.

Its not a christmas ball. In a Muslim country 😅 Its not a pearl divers headgear either. That building is the "Al Gannas Society". Which is a center for falconry. The "ball" is actually a falcons hood. The thing they put over the falcons head to clam it when it's perched. In Arabic its called a 'Burqa' In the West its known as 'rufta'

In Katar hatte meine Familie die besten Ferien jemals. Familienfreundlich: 1+ nirgends mussten wir uns sorgen machen was wie wo unsicher zu sein. Mann hatte das Gefühl wie wenn mann in der Schweiz in den 80er Jahren wäre, wo man sogar die Handtasche auf dem Tisch liegen lässt und nach 1 Stunde diese immer noch dort ist.

All depends on what time of the year and the rate of tourism in the country. Locals and residents have already seen them all. Not too much changes in a Museum and lots of tourists only know the mall for gifts and souvenirs.

How it's compare to Abu Dhabi?

I’ve been to Abu Dhabi, but I think Qatar is more comparable to Dubai in terms of attractions. But compared to Dubai, in Qatar, the attractions are closer together, which means less travel time between places and more opportunity to enjoy them. However, Qatar is quieter, so it might not have the same vibrant atmosphere that you find in the UAE. So each of these places has its own charm, depending on what you’re looking for.

Bro totally confused upon learning Psalms, Gospels and Torah. The following contradicts the Muslim scriptures. Jews only worship Yahweh as God and are monotheistic. Yahweh is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Christians worships Jesus but not Mary as God. Why God does not know that Christians don't worship Mary as God? Christians believes in the Holy Trinity that consists of Father (Mind of God); Jesus (Thought/ Wisdom of God); and Holy Spirit (Consciousness of God). Why as per Muslim scripture, God is making it appear that Jesus is crucified when someone else was? Why would God do this and it is like God forcing people to worship Jesus as God? The crucifixion of Jesus is mentioned in Isaiah 53 and is not something made by them, Christians. Jesus is referred God in Isaiah 9: 6-7. Why God is sending a prophet to the Arabs only at the end? If true faith is delivered through the prophet assigned to Arabs, then why Jesus is proclaimed Messiah. If Jesus was a prophet, why did God make Jesus be born by The Spirit of God?

So if Prophet Mohammed was born into polytheism and the prophet’s father was a polytheist. Islamic prophet Mohammed only knows to which God is referred. Following is an example of all monotheism is not worship of God of Abraham. Then Elijah approached all the people and said, “How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If Yahweh is God, follow Him. But if Baal, follow him.” But the people didn’t answer him a word.(1 Kings 18: 21) The worshippers of Baal were monotheists but they worshipped a false God different from the God of Abraham.
