I have loved the new LP stuff and im loving Emily but after listening to Dead Sara I can see why Mike picked her. Also the in live shows shes really starting to shine and be herself now that she knows its safe to do so. I love both these women and it interesting to see how they are so different

Chris, if you're screaming with a more compressed tone - not allowing enough breath to come through, wouldn't that typically be bad for your voice? Or is singing with compression only good when you're using distortion?

For Lzzy, neither the recorded, nor this acoustic version is a real scream. It would be cool to review some more recent material, like a live performance of this song (I have video from Oct. 25, 2024 in Montreal), or ‘Can You See Me In The Dark’ which may be Lzzy’s hardest vocal performance yet.

wouldn't say I'm on a whitchhunt ro prove Emily is a "bad vocalist", but listening to her both in the studio and live I'm quite sure she's going to face vocal health problems similar to M Shadows. Maybe not as severe, because there's less tension in her voice overall, but still. Doesn't make her a bad vocalist, she sounds amazing, but I'm adamant her voice is going to suffer sooner or later. Time will tell who's right I guess

@Kkrzik enough time has passed. Don't forget, she already was a touring musician before joining LP. Matt Shadows had a similar technique, and he blew out his voice and now has permanent damage.

dude. like your videos's style and love you very much. but have to say, what you do is not really even close to what she does. she has a shape of an aa sound in the chest and diaphragm. beside she doing it so harshly. you on the other hand have shape of an o sound (pretty much). also the Contraction balance between head voice and chest voice and resonators are pretty much diffrent.

There was not a "selection process" it was more personality, and the general feeling with her - as in they could hang around just being... Mike, Emily and the band for hours.

The evidence so far points out in the opposite direction of what you are suggesting. Emily and LP is embraced by the majority of fans and maybe even bringing in new fans from the younger generation especially from women. Reaction online such as views on KZbin and streams on streaming platforms show Shinoda's gamble on Emily is paying dividends. Their show are also selling out and fast internationally and locally. Objective data trumps personal feelings.
