Huge racial problems persist in Trinidad mainly because the population is not homogeneous as in other islands…it is a unique problem for Trinidad and for Guyana as well again because of the racial demographic- everyone is not on the same page and the political forces are also split along these racial lines which makes matters worse- it’s a dog-eat-dog world a raw fact of life-competition for limited resources for one’s ’kind’ at the expense of another- corruption and nepotism are also rampant as a result (whoever’s ‘kind’ wins the rigged elections hold the power) and the country suffers despite being a relatively resource rich nation- unfortunately the problem gets worse with each generation…
