Love that he is into martial arts and guns and can speak the language of the common man without climbing down from the high perch of an orthopedic (I'm American) surgeon. Chris, thank you for the reminder on Ukraine, I saw just now. I feel a little more compassion for the country, because I am Polish with a grandfather from Ukraine, whom I never really grew up to know being one of his younger grandkids. There is much more you and other Americans can do, you do invaluable service by providing Ukraine with intelligence to defend itself and with weapons. I commend this brave support and this is no cheap phrase since I do not hesitate to be critical of the U.S. on weapons of mass destruction in Iraq or trying to have Assange diced into pieces, after U.S. intelligence offered its credibility for sale with fake evidence.....I wonder how people like Colin Powell really went into Congress and tried to legitimize this. Well I stop now, I realized I started talking about politics. Being of Eastern European and Baltic ancestry mostly (if this DNA test was not crap) I was happy for Ukraine to grow and become more democratic.

Ever since I stared watching your channel, I've seen you talk a lot about facial injuries. Do orthopedic surgeons ever work with dental surgeons? Do the orthopedic surgeons fix the maxilla and mandible or do the dental surgeons do that? Or, does it depend on the extent of the injury? I was just really curious.
@ChrisRaynorMD2 жыл бұрын
Generally, it is maxillofacial dental surgeons that do most of this work. I am sure that there are times when orthopedic surgeons and dental surgeons work together, but those occasions are quite rare.

Dr. Raynor, have you ever seen the KZbin channel "Slap Fight?" If not, in this chanel contestants stand across from each other at arm's length and proceed viciously to slap each other across the face until one of them gets knocked-out or is judged to be the better slap fighter. I am wondering what kind of damage the vicious slaps can cause to contestants' cervical spines and/or facial bones?

@justafloridamanfromthe75thRR2 жыл бұрын
I liked the analysis very much, but if I may add something: the kimura is a shoulder lock and not a wrist lock. It attacks the shoulder joint and the upper humerus, whereas a wrist lock attacks the wrist joint exlusively. In catch wrestling though, both the americana and the kimura (ude garami) are being referred to as "double wrist lock".

Would you be willing to react to scenes from horror films? I know it traces outside your normal reviews but I would love for you to cover a few scenes from 2003’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Primarily the sledgehammer blow to Kemper’s skull, the chainsaw vertical bisection and Sheriff Hoyt’s roadkill scene when he is run over with his own car - multiple times. This may sound morbid but I am honestly interested in learning just how much damage a chainsaw can inflict to a human body and if it’s actually a efficient tool ( as horror films always make them out to be ).
