The velox motor screws are not long enough in the arm. I used a m3x12 which fitted perfectly
@alexchulzhanovАй бұрын
Just finished building one of my own - a couple things I would like to see fixed with the HS5 are the prop spinners don't fit with the HQProp 5.3x8 props (I actually cracked one of them trying to slot the prop in, and decided to use the carbon spacers instead). I would also mention that you need M1.6x10 screws to mount the O3 transmitter (it did include the TPU antennae mount which was nice) and longer M2x6 screws to mount the O3 camera. That and the longer screws that come with the T-Motor 2808 do not fit - you need to use M3x12 screws which work perfectly. I also noticed you moved the surface mount capacitor on the Blitz F7 - I ended up soldering a new 1000uF capacitor to the old pads, which contacts the O3 antenna radiator if you mount it straight up and down, but clears the JST plugs and the antenna by pushing it to the side a bit once assembled. I was going to have the capacitor at the XT60 plug, but there is very little room for the extra battery cable as it is. Excited to test fly it though, already have the tune loaded up!

This is going to be a fun build Chris. I ordered the whole frame kit already. I can't find a link for the recommended parts? Hey Chris, I love the devleopment you are doing!!! Keep it up and keep us inform of what you are up to. I have been playing in the FPV Gopro filming space for a waiting including filming RC planes and (regulator approved) manned aircraft. Im using a standard 7" quad with a Gopro and I'll seemingly blocked by a 140-150km/hr barrier. Keep in mind I want to do this speed for 5mins at a time with a gopro. What do you think is the biggest problem with this conventional drone? Is is drag (in particular the gopro)? Is it prop size and motor kv? The AOS HS5 would be great for straight line speed. However, would only allow for trailing shots of the subject aircraft. Interested in your thoughts. Keep it up mate, very inspiring!!!

RANT! So, I had a minor hard landing and broke 2 fins off the bottom shell. Since we don't get the STL's when we buy the drone, and we can't even buy them, I bought a new bottom shell from Brain 3D for $24.50. Something I could have printed for less than a dollar or two. After waiting a week to get it, I found out it doesn't come with the little cross piece in the bottom to hold the battery. How many frames cost over $124? And they can't include the STL files? Or even at the very least, sell them to us? This drone is actually very tricky to land. Plan on breaking a few parts and having to wait a week each time. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this is unfair? Update, Brian at Brain 3D contacted me and got me the part. He was really super nice about it and got over night. I'm really impressed with that.
