I have been searching for a backswing feel for 20 years and your Backswing Wall Drill is fantastic. It eliminates my backswing "sway" and my natural over the top swing.

Thank you Chris- I have a problem with swaying and your answer is the solution for my problems. I have short arms and I found myself reaching and the left foot was lifting upwards. Now I know how to correct my issue. Cheers!

Chris, I just went out and practiced this in my garden hitting practice balls and it really helped my pivot action, kept me a bit more centered. thnx for the help.

Really instructional video. I love the real life examples and drills. Makes it very relatable and easier to grasp.

Another awesome demonstration of how to make the game of golf easy… er, especially with that orange thing, what would you call it and where to buy? Thank you Chris.

Chris, loving the fab clear explanation of how the backswing mechanics work. Really insightful stuff. I always had a natural tendency to sway off the ball so this video will help me fix that. I understand now I must have been turning away from the ball but still partly remaining in forward bend and not Extending out of forward bend extension with side bend. Question: this helps me get the perfect pivot shoulder rotation movement. But could you take us through your hands on the wall / golf cart explaining how you could now blend in the correct movement of the trail arm to the top of your backswing? I’m assuming these arm positions are there simply to your shoulders extended / pivoting. Or can you actually extend and use this drill to practice getting to the top of your backswing? I imagine you would need to rotate and fold your trail arm in the actual swing to half way back then rotate the right arm to the top from the right shoulder joint? Where should your fingers of your trail hand be pointed at the top of your backswing (assuming your not holding a club)

Hey Chris, can you do a vid with drills to stop early extending/standing up in the swing, and maintaining the angles through to impact? Really struggling with this, and no other vid tutorials are helping Cheers boss 🙂

Chris, I get the turn and tilt but not the extension portion on the backswing. Are you extending front the hips?
@knuteboy3778Ай бұрын
It's basically built in. If you turn then tilt your left shoulder towards the ball, extension is sort of the "hidden" component that allows you to tilt. It's as bit tricky because it's not obvious that is what is going on. Check out Stack and Tilt by Andy Plummer and Mike Bennett. They talk about this stuff extensively and then check out the head against the wall drill. It's a brilliant drill that demonstrates the turn, tilt, and extend components and trains your body how to feel it.

@@knuteboy3778is correct. You get Extension in your Pivot based backswing for free by Turning with Side Bend. By doing this your coming out of forwards bend / your reversing forward bend /Flexion. Like Chris said if you just turned from your hips you would remain in Flexion (Side Bend). So from here you do need Extension (standing upright) then you need to add in your side bend. But if you Pivot back correctly you will blend shoulder rotation (with some hip rotation) and be in Side Bend (automatically incorporating side bend). The best way to experience doing this properly is to do the hands forward to hands on the wall / towards the golf cart windscreen. Like Chris explained if you had not come out of / Extended out of Forward Bend (Flexion) your body would still be tipped sideways and your hands would be on the bonnet not the windscreen.

For the backswing, is it a good thought to think about rotating round my centre. Stops away & dont worry about weight shift I see you have tour player ability to have your left arm stiff. If I do this it cause me to sway & feel like I’m stretching out I have to soften my arms a little to stop this

I wonder if I can find videos on the channel with tips on how to turn more in the backswing :D
@peterscott1498Ай бұрын
You might be turning too much for your body. Everyone’s top of the backswing will be different. Look at John rahm

Turn and keep your head steady throughout the swing. Simples

Turn or not turn what in backswing? You never specifically say? Shoulders, chest, spine, hips or all or none or part?
@pohoreskyАй бұрын
A proper backswing is not about just stopping turning as you suggest in the heading. It is also about tilting and raising arms as well as turning different parts of the bofy i.e. shoulders (turning) spine (tilting) and arms (lifting so left shoulder comes under the chin) The point I am making is that your heading as written is misleading in many ways.

So this is Jim Furyk's swing, essentially.

If you watch jim. He has a shallowing sequence & is steep at the top

I have plenty of them, pretty common, maybe not to the extreme examples shown but one of the more common moves I’d say
