Spooky, I'm 53, HCI is actually 16.9 but my aim this year was 18 (started at 22.9 and watched a lot if your stuff) with an Average drive of 208. Can definitely see that my pressure shift back to lead is a little late and that might be costing me some distance. Really nice to see a driving video that isn't either really complex around when to accelerate or even decelerate grip etc or isnt just about swinging faster and really quick aggressive back swings. Thanks for this Chris.

Thanks for the video, very helpful. One thing I've found is that getting too fast at the top of the backswing with driver causes all kinds of issues. When I'm swinging driver my worst I typically find that im getting too quick, firing into the downswing too suddenly in a motion that isn't smooth.

Yep that sounds like tempo getting a bit out of sync, the blast sensor measures this so a great tool

Hey Chis! Thanks so much for posting this video. I'm a 9 handicap and the driver has always been the weakest part of my game. I recently got fitted for a new driver and have been working hard on my driver swing. I tried the simple weight shift thing Steve showed you with my driver on the range this morning. It was nothing short of incredible. I've never hit my driver so well. I'm not sure I understand the physics of it but it worked for me almost instantly. The difference in contact and curvature (or lack thereof) was crazy good. The best part is its a super simple thought/move. Kudos to you and Steve!

Chris, I’ve been one of your best fans (down here in NZ) for many years and very grateful for what you’ve taught and continue to teach me. That said, as a 66yr old that hits 220mtrs (on a good day) I can’t help thinking that this is lesson, for hitting further, is predominately for the younger players on a good handicap that have the flexibility. As men, we all want to “smash” but I’ve always seen that more attention to length results in a wider dispersion and promotes an emotional drive to get over that, by hitting harder, etc etc! I’ve also come to understand through cost of a match and paying for a cheeky beer or two, that you should always be aware of the shortest drive! However, as always a great video but just wanted to say that we don’t all have to hit further through faster… especially as the number of birthday candles increase.

Thanks for watching and your feedback, definitely agree that as a general rule the longer you hit the ball then the larger the dispersion, although it’s often a price worth paying and the statistics back this up for almost all levels of golfer. I publish a lot of content and my goal is to help as many golfers as possible enjoy the game and play better, I would admit myself that not every video will be for every golfer, and they are not intended to be. If you are not seeking more distance then I guess the videos focusing on accuracy would be more suited to you, however I did ask Steve to provide advice that anyone can do and I believe that all golfers can shift their weight from side to side regardless of flexibility, I’d also argue that lifting the lead heel is something that is targeted towards the less flexible, and tempo is again something that anyone can do. Appreciate your feedback though, always allows me to reflect and hopefully make better content going forwards and I hope you keep watching the channel 🙏🏻

Thank you Chris, it certainly wasn’t a criticism and like I said, I’ve been following you for years and certainly will continue, as I think you’re the best coach I’ve come across. Keep up the great work!

Moving pressure is the last drill I worked on with my coach to get me to hit more up on the ball. When hit well, it added 20+ yards and 5 mph clubhead speed.

my difficulty is when I shift weight back to the front foot my backswing stops where it is which is fairly short.

Yeah great point, shifting back definitely can shorten the swing, timing is everything here

Probably Tour Tempo. Not free but an excellent resource.
