hello I am 15! (Don't be a creep) I lost my father when I was 9 years old to stage four cancer. Shortly after my step mother left me for her other son.and then my grandma passed away after him when I was 13. When I was 14 my mother passed away from OD. And then right before I turned 15 7 months after her, my grandpa passed away. . I'm 34, just lost my mom last week at the age of 60. Very long story, but she came in and out of my life for small moments of my life, almost like an angel. She was a broken old soul.. I went through her things with my siblings.. it was all pictures and writings from us kids, with stacks of poems she'd write to herself about being broken. This was one of her favorite and last songs she listened to.. I love you mom.. I didn't know how broken you really were..

Over 100 degrees today and I stopped at a light to give a homeless guy a drink. He could barely walk to the passengers window to take the cold drink. He was older than I thought and shuffled to my van. He was scared and had no naval. I gave him a couple of drinks and looked into his eyes. Me and my wife help those who help the homeless but this was face to face. He kept saying “God bless you” as I gave him the drinks and drove off. It shook me to my core thinking how that could be me. “Except for the Grace of God go I” now had a face. His halo was in a hard place. How he sleeps in the heat in his fragile condition is a mystery. I broke down and thanked God for my good life. A wife who loves me after 38 years. Our 500sf house with working AC and locks on the doors.

Sorry to hear this. Mine went the same, back in '78. I was 20, and he left me so lost. I was lost. Six yrs later, I gave my heart to Jesus and learned daddy was 'ready' to go 'Home'. About 25 yrs later, mama went 'Home' the same way. Slowly, painfully with cancer, but this time it was so different. She knew Him, and so did I. We talked and prayed and sang together! I was with her, as I had been with daddy, but this time Jesus was with me. Mama had so much peace and assurance. I was enveloped with a peace and a strength that night I never knew could exist in that way. Through much crying.... I could not stop smiling, and then laughing! All I can say is, He met us with all we needed to get through it. What a surprise. Right now I'm praying for you and yours that His strength and peace will meet you where you are. Lord bless ya, He will see you through this. It's not over yet. ✌😎

I lost My Dad in my arms when I was 8 years old not knowing death then lost my mom ten years later also found her Dead and knowing death its been hard to overcome to this very day.And then to make matters worse 5 years ago lost my son that was only 18 years to suicide and then 3 days after that tragedy lost my older brother to a heart attack ..Be good to your parents with tje uomost respect ..Live your brothers and sisters like no tomorrow.And give all your heart n soul with knowledge and skills to your kids

My brother in law just sent me this.. my daughter passed away the 5 year death anniversary of my sister... 11/13.. She had a major asthma attack.. She was resuscitated and admitted to ICU for a week until declared deceased from brain death on 11/21... she was only 16 years old.. this song hits my heart.. I've never heard it before until now...

I met a lady today by the name of Cindy, a beautiful butterfly and she was homeless and her and I got to talking and sharing the love of Christ. There was something so divine about her. I could have talked with her for hours. You could tell she had been through a lot in her life, but her love for Jesus was such a blessing to me. And I hope that one day she gets to read this message, thank you Ms. Cindy for blessing me in the parking lot in Raleigh, NC! We here in the South are unified in the solemn and unspoken brotherhood honoring their legacy and their truth. I think often on these things around the campfire with moonshine in hand listening to songs just like this. We don't ever get explanations for why loved ones, friends and family, are taken from us before their time. Just remember this, never take life for granted. Live every single day like it's your last, at work, at home, out in the field or in the house at the dinner table. I'm putting this for my son who passed away Oct 9, 2021. I have been listening to Chris since he was with Steeldrivers but my son, never listened to country except for Johnny Cash and Hank Williams Jr. One day my phone rung with the ringtone Broken Halos, Niko heard it. He told me he really liked the song and wanted to hear the whole song. That was June, 2021, then in Oct he was gone. Now when I listen to the song, I think there are SO MANY things Niko and I shared that's what made us so complete that really the relationship we had was "so close we couldn't slide a piece of paper between us". Thanks Chris for making a memory for us and thanks for ALL the beautiful songs you have created for everyone to enjoy. Wishing you and your family a beautiful day, if you're in Tennessee I am sure this day started out to be as beautiful as your family (for real) I ain't sugar coatin' nothing. Chris wanted to say that yesterday I read the lyrics to Broken Halos. Remember I told you earlier that my son in June of last year heard that song and he really liked it a lot then he passed away in October. Well as I read the lyrics I was thinking about what I heard one time I have heard of it being said that people who are going to pass away they pick up on certain things or hear certain things in this case lyrics that most don't hear. So what I'm trying to say is he heard something in that song that was calling him that's in my opinion. Because at one time it's true when you say Broken Halos that used to shine and Angels come down from the heavens to help us on our way.

Then, just yesterday, a friend of mine passed away in a car accident. He was the kindest, most gentle person I have ever met. He was only 23 years old. Now this song is helping me come to terms with him no longer being here, and I can't help but imagine that finding this song so close to his passing was for a reason, but it all belongs to the by and by after all.
