Thank you for modeling your relationships in a biblical way. I'm excited to see you, your wife, and your kids bear fruit in future because of what your doing now. What a joy it will be when they see it for themselves.

To answer the question, my relationships are complicated. With my mom, growing up she was never super strict with living a Christian lifestyle. I'd go to church with my friends, but she would stay home. A few years ago, she had a bad experience with school and she wasn't able to become a nurse due to racism. After that incident, she claims she isn't Christian anymore all of a sudden when I said we were. Now that I'm older, I try to give her words of wisdom here and there trying to put her back onto the right path. All these bad things keep happening to her, but she doesn't seem to look towards God and reattempt to follow his word wholeheartedly. I'm not completely sure what to do since I don't want to be too pushy, but I also want the best for her. Moreover, my relationships with my friends is normal, I guess. It's not Christ centered, but we also met when we were 5 and we've grown up together. I don't have much Christians friends or any at all that I'm close with. I'm not sure how to bring God into these friendships since I've talked to them before about Jesus and shared verses with them. One isn't too sure about being reglious for no particular reason, and the other says she believes in God but I'm not sure if she's very religious. 2 other friends I'm not too sure where they stand relgious wise and another friend of mine is Muslim so I'm not sure what to do. I like all my friends and family and I wouldn't want them to fall apart, but I'm just very lost after listening to this podcast. Some advice would be helpful! :)

I would say try to show Gods impact to the people around you through the way you live. Always bring the glory back to Christ without pushing it on them. Then they will start to wonder why things are always going so great for you and hopefully they will be led to discover him on their own. And don’t forget to pray for them. Like heavy. Ask Jesus to show them his love. And do your part to remind them of it too. I hope this helps.

Live to show them how good God is. Go the extra mile. Forget the 5 dollar they owe you. Be gracious. Don’t shy away from saying that you prayed today when they asked you what did you do. I’m not saying to evangelize (if u can you should) but i’m saying don’t shy away from showing your christian lifestyle too. At the very least this will put certain boundaries on what they say/do to you (in a good way)

Hey hopes this helps but read in the New Testament Matthew chapter 10 “instructions to the 12 apostles” As Christians today, the story of Jesus instructing his disciples to shake off the dust and move on has several implications for our relationships and our faith: 1. Perseverance: It teaches us the importance of perseverance in sharing the message of the gospel. Just as the disciples encountered rejection, we may also face resistance or indifference when sharing our faith. However, we should not be discouraged but continue to faithfully proclaim the good news, knowing that not everyone will receive it. 2. Respect for Free Will: The story highlights the respect for free will and the freedom of choice. Jesus instructed his disciples not to force the gospel upon those who were unwilling to receive it. Similarly, in our relationships, we should respect the choices and beliefs of others. We can share our faith and values, but ultimately it is up to individuals to accept or reject them. 3. Focus on the Willing: By instructing his disciples to move on to the next house, Jesus emphasized the importance of focusing on those who are open and receptive to the message of the gospel. Likewise, in our relationships, we should invest our time and energy in building meaningful connections with those who are open to hearing about our faith and spiritual journey. 4. Letting Go of Rejection: Shaking off the dust from their feet symbolized letting go of rejection and not allowing it to hinder their mission. As Christians, we should learn to let go of rejection and not let it discourage us from sharing our faith or pursuing healthy relationships. Instead, we can trust in God's guidance and continue to seek opportunities to spread love, forgiveness, and the message of Christ. Overall, the story reminds us to be faithful in sharing the gospel, respect others' choices, focus on those who are receptive, and let go of rejection. It encourages us to navigate our relationships with love, grace, and perseverance while trusting in God's guidance.

Along with prayer and using your life as a example of Jesus to them, I believe it is SO important to have a Christian community that you consistently go/speak with in this situation. Community is SO important to have, mostly because we’re meant to be in fellowship and meant to be in relation with others! Also, it is a good way for people to support you (such as praying for your mom and your friends) and encourage you and strengthen you in your faith! Don’t give up! Keep on praying for them! Keep on having other people pray for them as well! Though you may not see fruit right now, the Lord is still working behind the scenes! Keep on holding strong in the faith! Reach out to fellow believers, keep on praying for opportunities for you to share the gospel with them! Don’t give up! (2 Peter 3:9)

Thank you for this word! I’m not sure how to navigate my expectations with my Christian friends. I love them all and want to be closer, however I’ve found with the guys especially that feelings or misunderstandings get in the way and then they end up ignoring me or talking to me less. It’s really hurtful. I don’t feel particularly attractive and I’ve really stopped communicating altogether because I don’t know where I’m going wrong with these guys.

I’m guessing you’re a girl ? aha. It might be good for you to focus more on the godly female friendships. Not that you can’t have male friends, but I’ve found it vital to invest + cultivate godly female friendships 💞

I don't know if my own experience can help illuminate things. I've had a handful of female Christian friends (or at least I thought we were friends, _but it might be too personal to get into that_) whom I care for deeply. One of them I developed feelings for, and when I told her, she stopped just short of cutting me out completely. My response wasn't to ignore her, but to give her space in the hope that she'd recognise I'm okay with a platonic relationship. It has been difficult, as at times she seems to be getting close to treating me how she used to, then at others it feels like she's making a point of ignoring me. The latter occasions I really feel punished despite having done nothing wrong. Based on that, I'd say if they're ignoring you or talking less they could be uncertain of how you'd treat them after any misunderstandings. If you've stopped communicating with them it could have given them the signal that there's no room for friendship any longer. This all assumes they're emotionally mature godly men. If they aren't emotionally mature it may require more patience (I know further back in my own past I wouldn't have handled my own situation well). I've also heard of guys who unfortunately think sticking around will somehow make the woman eventually fall for them, so you have to be mindful of that possibility. And if they aren't serious about their faith it's probably time to move on.

My relationships are few outside of my family, I have acquaintance with those I’ve let along the way. Many of whom often reach out and remind me of the difference I made in their lives. One of which I strive for and work towards. This all is so familiar, I grew up the youngest of eight siblings and the two closest were brothers. What Pastor Alex spoke about how we look at the opposite sex is absolutely correct. This leaves me longing for “House Church” here in Atlanta where there’s a plethora of Mega Churches yet so many people in need.

28:13 Hello Alex. I think I may understand what you mean when you say our old father is the devil. But could you elaborate for me? How the devil can be our father?
@joshuasolorzano4218
@joshuasolorzano4218 4 ай бұрын
Bible says when you’re of the world, you’re father is the devil, but when you’re born again of Christ, God is your father and you no longer follow the will of your old father the devil. If it’s not of God, it’s of the enemy.
