I disagree. Some people genuinely want to hear God but have difficulty discerning the voice of God. This can be due to immaturity or also due to blockage from spiritual warfare. It may also be that God is being silent due to the person being in the wilderness time of testing. It is not as black and white as it seems on the surface.

Everyone is a “christian” until they want to encourage you into sinning against God with your body. Often times they are handsome, smart, motivated and work hard but don’t KNOW God and want to drag you into sin with them. Choosing someone who doesn’t know and love God leads to sin so will end in pain and heartache. Stay STRONG!!
@krii9982 жыл бұрын
Yeah but christians are not any better, everyone is messed up. I know christian women who married non christians and they treat them better than a christian would. Oftentimes christian men become toxic and abusive. Plus not to mention the sexual problem. We are not supposed to die from loneliness and burn with passion our whole lives. What if that "magical christian prince" never comes across? Some women are sadly mistaken thinking waiting for such a long time is good. In biblical times ppl didn't have this problem because they married at 16 but nowadays it's nearly impossible for young people to wait until they're 30 and above to get married and stay celibate at the same time. It's unrealistic.

NOPE. Smh And that's why women are not permitted to teach. When you do speak... it's usually right after making the wrong decision. If God is good (and He Is) AND, God Is all powerful ( That would be omnipotent and He Is) , AND you have FAITH that doesn't flex. THEN it doesn't matter how long a person needs to patiently wait on The Lord. Because In Him, all the limits, constraints, times, and boundaries are removed. I've heard Him called, "The God of the last minute!" LoL I regularly called Him, "The God of the last Second!" As I matured in my faith and grew in the knowledge of His Grace I realized "the last Second" still does not accurately describe His habits for His Word records that Jesus Himself spoke concerning this, explaining that there is purpose in His delay. ( Side note, "The Lord is not slow to keep His Word, like many understand procrastinate or dilly dallying. No, He Is patient towards you. Not wanting anyone to have to die and go to hell." My own paraphrase of 2 Peter 3:9 you see? There is Purpose in what seems to be His Procrastination. In this instance, it's "so that none would perish.") Read the accounts of Christ raising Jairus' daughter from the dead. All three accounts, in order, start with Matthew's. Then read John's account of Jesus raising His friend Lazarus from the grave after four days of being dead. And this is so important, the account of Issac's conception. From two people the bible says who's bodies were "as good as dead!😵 Heb11" If you would only believe, then, you would see. It doesn't matter ”when” you meet your spouse, or how old y'all might be. Because for those who delight themselves in the Lord, He knows the desires of your heart. Just like the one amazing night that God gave 99 yo Abraham and 98 yo Sara POWER (🥳🥴😴) to conceive Issac, so also as Eph3:20 again, my own paraphrase tells us that, "According To The Power That Works In You, He Is Able to give you good things beyond your wildest dreams." Couple things on that 1. According to the Power that works in you. Could be understood like according to how much faith YOU possess. 2. The use of the word Dunamis in this verse and the use of the word In as in ' The Dunamis at work Inside of you' versus ' The Dunamis at work Because of you' makes me consider that this verse is not putting the emphasis on how much faith one might have, but instead on the ability of God's Holy Spirit. So have faith! Because God is Good All the Time! That means even for the doubting Thomas out there! Who should instead have a greater level of trust in God yet still doesn't; BUT does sincerely, "delight themself in The Lord", it is possible to still be eligible for these wonderfully kind acts of God! Simply because He wills to do it out of the abundance of the Love, Grace, and Mercy that He has for us. He's the God that prepares a table for us, in front our enemies! Trust that If you think your time has expired, or you simply "always struck out." If it pleases God, He is more than capable of putting you on first base! Even of giving you HOME. 😎 😉 May God richly bless you Amen

This topic is so very important. When people keep asking me about having children, I adamantly tell them that my standard is to be married first (especially to a man of God). I refuse to bend on that desire. My desire to have children inside of God's Will, does not outweigh my desire to birth them in general. I have peace because I think of God's promise to Sarah.
@emmamccoy83812 жыл бұрын
I can tell you EVERYTHING Preston said about the trials of NOT being married to a man who loves God is true. When things go wrong you pray he gets a beer, you go to church with your kids then 1 day your kids say can we stay home today and he says sure you can. When money issues, work issues life issues come up and you need your husband to pray with you, for you and over you .... IT DOESN'T HAPPEN! You may think these things are ok and you can deal with that but you really don't know what that's like. As Jackie said DON'T be that person who says "I'll pray he/she accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior" that could be 20, 30, 40 years from I DO ... believe me you don't want to go that route #beenthere #itisnotwhatGoddesiresforyou #waitonGod

About waiting on God, the story of Sarah comes to mind. She was told that she would have a child and because it didn't happen at the time that seemed logical to her, she wen't ahead and decided that she's gonna help God. But she only ended up interfering with the events of prophecy. Sometimes we really just need to chill, pray and wait. Not easy but we will outline save ourselves so much disappointment. When we run ahead of God, we can't complain when it doesn't turn out how we expect it. We can use the waiting time to develop our relationship with God and develop our characters
@itsyaaveragegirl2 жыл бұрын
The thing with Sarah is that G-d told her that she was going to have a child. G-d doesn’t guarantee that everyone will get married, actually the Bible says that we all won’t be married. So sometimes we feel like marriage is the end goal but Christ is the end goal. If you want to be married pray on it but don’t believe that just because you want it He’s going to give it to you. We also have to think to ourselves why would G-d give me to one of his children? What are the godly qualities I possess to even be qualified to be married and if I do not have them am I willing to pray and work on them.

The right timing! Dating is so hard these days!! There are not enough quality men out there. If I meet a Christian man they are usually not in tune or abuse the word of God to their advantage. There are a lot of Christian men who aren’t waiting til marriage nor have a solid foundation with God. I defiantly dated unbelievers and believers (they say they love God but live their life differently) and it was still hard and it didn't work in the end. I’m 29 years old and it’s hard when I hear the comments about why am I single as if something is wrong with me. I am focusing on my career and bettering myself but I also desire marriage in the process. The path to success can be a lonely journey but I refuse to settle! It’s nothing wrong with you but what are your actions/ saying in these relationships? Are you feeding his flesh or his spirit? Did you say you was a Christian but finding yourself compromising or sleeping with him? Im not saying these are what you’re doing. This is just food for thoughts. Because, no men will respect you once they feel like they have a hold on you with their sweet nothing talks manipulations or even you giving up the cookie. No matter how powerful tongue speaking or word of God they have in them, as a woman you need to guard your heart. Like she said, don’t start acting like a wife until there’s a ring on your finger. Until he is committed to you because is He who find a wife finds a good thing. Not, he likes you, Date for 3 years and then makes you his wife. No, a wife he has already found in you and now he’s talking that step to make you his wife. Because who we are to God? ..His bride. So if you’re not preparing yourself and being faithful to God in your singleness and not using discernment, it’ll be an endless cycle. Let you find the right one not the one. There’s no such thing as the one but the right one for you that God place in your life.

The last part about men in the church having too many options was exactly what I needed to hear. I came to this new church and found an amazing community. I got connected and became part of a solid group of folks ages 25-30. After about 6 months there, I noticed that I was getting a lot of attention from the women. I was relishing in I’ll admit. Until a friend asked me, “so how does it feel to have options and all this attention from women at the church?” She was no fool. She knew and named it. I needed to be still and sit with that question. Although it was nice initially especially after being single for almost 2 years, deep down it felt weird and wrong. I wanted to be patient and part of something serious. The question alone was the switch for me, and I realized that I needed to set some boundaries, focus up, and take it to God. Deep down I knew that was not the man I was trying to a be. After straightening up, I am happy to say there is now only one woman I am focused on and praying for/with. Indecisive men are asking for disaster. Pray about it, test the waters, then make a choice. Quit playing games fr. No one wins.

Well, I've been single all my life (my dates & "situationships" don't really count imo) and I'm absolutely happy because of my walk with the Lord, despite 23 years of life with no real relationships. I struggled for years with being single and depressed but God worked in my heart through mentors and the Gospel. He changed my heart to make me realize that I must first be satisfied & happy in Him alone, because he is the only one who can wholly love us. In other words, if I'm not fully satisfied & happy in the perfect Creator alone, how can I expect to be satisfied & happy with another imperfect person in marriage? Paul's writing in 1 Corinthians 7:32-33 (NASB) says: [32] But I want you to be free from concern. One who is unmarried is concerned about the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord; [33] but one who is married is concerned about the things of the world, how he may please his wife, " He's saying that those who are single and following Christ have the freedom to serve God more and focus more on Him whereas married believers are focused on serving God & their spouse, meaning they have less time to focus on their walk with Him. That's not a bad thing for married believers btw, unless it gets to the point of idolization. My point in all this is that God is all we need and we should be happy to serve him while being single because we have the freedom to do so (this is also a huge point in Ecclesiastes)! Married believers lose that flexibility in life with their spouse, kids, etc.
@kemotembwe894010 ай бұрын
Something can be better appreciated when you look at it from a distance. I think it's mostly married people who appreciate singleness coz they've compared the 'burdens' of singleness and marriage. But you remind me of Joseph Solomon. He gave me the vibes of "I'm single and I'm cool with that", but this was before he stepped out of faith and all. So maybe we need to search more of single people who are happy being single. Also, I don't think Jackie was being controversial or being as brutal as you put it. Remember the context; some single people date and go through so many people (many options).... Which is worse than patiently waiting for 'the one' and not fooling with anybody. The WAY you wait has consequences

Excellent conversation on a very important topic. Dating should lead to marriage. Stop dating someone who is an unequal yoke, toxic, or extremely immature. I know of people whose wedding invitation announced they were marrying their friends and they divorced a few years later. Marriage includes friendship, however, it's not the foundation of a good Christian marriage. The foundation has to be Jesus Christ alone. From Him and through Him, the 😭 oneness in Christ grows in marriage.

Jackie hit the nail on the head several times for me especially with the concern about fertility. Although I desire a spouse, I told a friend that I wouldn't be upset with God if a life of singleness is what He has for me. I'd be more saddened about not being a mother. I would love to adopt but my heart was crushed when my Pastor, God rest his soul, had a sermon on what a Christian family is and included what it was not was women having children on their own because they weren't married. I was heartbroken. It seems unfair. My friend, who is a great woman of Faith with her own family, gave me a different perspective. If you're a Christian, then you'll be raising a child in a Christian family. Jackie also made a great point that just because they are Christian doesn't mean they are your spouse or spouse material. The last guy I dated, I entertained too long because he was Christian, and nice but Holy Spirit was telling me something different. Didn't want to listen. Preston is right about some of these young Christian IG men with their internet ministries. They love the attention. It's just a mess out here! Stay strong single brothers and sisters!

@@srslymorgan Thanks for that. I felt better when she told me that. He's resting now with the Father but he was a bit old fashioned in a lot of ways. Although I rarely give my number out, I may not see the person again if we're just out about in a store and we made a connection over small talk🤣I love him though but he was definitely stuck in the days before technology when it came to dating.
