Jesus is one of the many false teachers warned about in Deuteronomy chapter 13. When reading the New Testament discern, how does this compare to what was written in the Hebrew Bible! 1= Nowhere in the H.B is the Messiah divine. 2= Nowhere in the H.B is the Messiah a sin sacrifice. 3= Nowhere in the H.B is the Messiah born of a virgin. 4= Nowhere in the H.B is vicarious atonement approved; we are all responsible for our own sins. 5= Nowhere in the H.B does God become a man. The H.B. is the word of God. The New Testament is a fiction that uses and perverts the H.B. to make a new religion. And even if it were a "controversy" or used to somehow attack someone, proclaiming Christ as Lord is still proclaiming His name. And if the dislike for Ben leads people to choose Christ, then so be it. A little suspicious this whole thing is around Holy Week don't you think?

@@watch7966 What really bothers me is this guy's and other so-called Christians' hubris in pointing fingers at Christians who call out or mock people like Ben Shapiro or Klavan and accusing them of unchristian behavior. Both Ben and Klavan have dishonored Christ's Holy Name, yet the host does not confront this reality. I've noticed that many American Christians are upset with people who defend Christ against specific people's attacks, rather than being upset with how Christ is being disparaged. Anyone who disrespects Christ is not my buddy, and I will not praise them. But you may see and hear innumerable Christians saying, "I still love Ben and support him," even after seeing that he has contempt for Jesus. However, the same folks would distance themselves from those who made Ben Shapiro and Klavan uncomfortable by claiming Christ is King. Make it make sense.

"Judeo-Christian" makes sense on a basic level because Christian morality is basically the same as Jewish morality, except the ceremonial laws were fulfilled in Christ and therefore are no longer necessary. God's morality did not change, though, so from a moral perspective, the term makes sense. However, Jews reject Christ, which is the most important thing of all, so... Yeah that's where the line is drawn.

It is absolutely tacky to cheapen the name of my savior for political commentary, cheap laughs and internet points. It’s quite literally taking the Lord’s name in vain. [Edited to Add] A lot of Christians think not “taking the Lord’s name in vain” just means not saying “Oh my God” or exclaiming “Jesus Christ!” as an expletive. He was the Only Begotten of the Father, thus He inherited the power over death FROM God the Father, to take up His life again. I'm sensing that you're saying Christ and the Father (and the Spirit) are the selfsame God, and that would be the only current point on which we differ. The scriptures cover several situations that distinguish Christ from His Father (i.e. Heavenly Father or God) and even the Holy Ghost. With Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost as three separate beings who are completely united in purpose, it's not difficult understanding episodes like Christ's baptism. Heavenly Father was in and speaking from heaven to His beloved Son, Christ, who was on the earth, and the Holy Ghost descended in the form of a dove. Three separate beings (perfectly united in purpose). When you amass them into a single trinity or triune God (sorry I'm not super familiar with it), how do you understand that same episode with Jesus on earth being addressed as the "beloved Son" of the voice of Himself simultaneously also up in heaven while He simultaneously appears as a separate and distinct representation in the form of a dove descending upon Himself? Or when Peter, James, and John saw Christ and heard a separate voice from heaven address Christ as "my beloved Son" - was He calling Himself "my beloved Son"? Or when Stephen saw Jesus (the Son) standing on the right hand of God (the Father)? Or when Christ said He would send the Comforter, not Himself? Doesn't it ring true that they are separate beings given all these witnesses? Such a truth doesn't even tarnish Their glory, grace, power, or purpose. It also makes us not lose track of who God is (our Heavenly Father), who Jesus Christ is (our Savior and Redeemer), and who the Holy Ghost is (the second witness or Comforter). Their capabilities ARE far beyond ours, but their identities in our lives are not beyond understanding. I worry that this abstraction of God as "beyond our understanding" was a deliberate tactic devised long ago to distance us from God by obfuscating His identity and thus our relationship to Him as His very literal spirit children. My questions are not said with derision or sarcasm. I'm really curious how you make sense of one being doing all those separate actions. It seems to me like those separate actions/presences were exhibited to show Their distinctness so we might understand Them, as opposed to (what?) show mind-boggling power through the proliferation of one being as multiple entities in multiple places at one time. I do not see us as enemies in this difference. We'd agree it is important to understand the nature of God so we can more fully worship Him in truth and follow the Savior's perfect example - "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect" - so we can going about doing good as Jesus did, albeit to the best of our imperfect abilities. This world needs more and more of us doing our best to carry out His work of charity and service, always by His grace.

Genesis 12:3 Who cares if Jews are upset? Perhaps God would. I don’t see how using Jesus to purposefully upset another, will cause them to see Christianity as an option. I was under the impression our purpose was to share the Gospel, not bludgeon people with it and walk away, not caring about the bloody mess we leave in our wake.
