a quick tip that I've noticed has worked for me - DRINK LOTS OF WATER. it's strange but since I got a 'talking to' from my transplant coordinator about not drinking enough H20 I've really noticed an improvement to my rosacea when I upped my water intake in addition to the tips in this video. thanks again~

Thank you for sharing - water is so essential for skin function, so I guess it does make sense that it would assist with inflammatory skin conditions like rosacea as well :)

I appreciate your insight. I have been noticing rosacea on my forehead and cheeks again for the past several days. I now realize that I consumed too little water and too many grapefruits lately. Again, thank you for reminding me of the remedy. I occasionally use Metro Gel on my face; it's also helpful.

My rosacea is so uniquely annoying. I find my skin is at a stage where I can’t even put products on!!! It’s so calm until a product touches it then it’s aggravated. I’m working up to a think layer of serum, but moisturisers are burning 😢😢

My skin was exactly like that 2 years ago. I started washing my face with the La roche posay Hydrating cleanser and moisturized with the Aveeno Eczema therapy Daily moisturizing cream. I used just this for a whole month and then added a Barrier restoring cream but that was prescription but I've heard great reviews on the Cocokind ceramide barrier repair serum. Don't use anything else for 3 months and it will get better! I started the Azelaic acid from The Ordinary after that along with 0.025% prescription Tretinoin alternate nights and it's been keeping my skin mostly clear and not so red the last one year!

@@gracepriyadarshini8118 hello, do you know about double cleaning? do you think it will make it worse? I have redness and small pimples on my cheeks, but my face is oily. Is it possible for oily skin to have rosacea?

@@nergisturkmen7368 hi Nergis! My skin developed those tiny red bumps a few months ago along with the previous redness and in frustration I got on Apostrophe and sent my pictures and was prescribed a cream with a combination of Tretinoin, spironolactone and Clindamycin. Within one week I saw a huge difference! I still use all the other products I mentioned in the earlier message. Hope this helps. It was worth the $60 I paid on Apostrophe. I am generally very frugal and skeptical of online stuff but I had been to 2 dermatologists in person and they didn't help at all. So try it! And yes I've heard of double cleansing but haven't tried it yet. My skin seems fine for now.

For Rosacea, topical Ivermectin and Metronidazole creams along with Niacinamide in the morning. Tretinoin cream at night, along with a moisturizer with ceramides and then Vasoline on top of the moisturizer to seal moisture in the skin. Careful, Vasoline over Tretinoin can increase the likelihood of irritation. Start with low dose Tretinoin and use it every other day until tolerated. (Note: I’m not an MD).

That is great - Face Theory is such a good brand :). I really underestimated how my cleansing routine was impacting my rosacea - I was using cleansers that were way to harsh for my skin, and way too often. The vanicream gentle cleanser has worked great for me! Stratia has a wonderful cleansing milk that my skin loves too.

I’ve been noticing these red flare ups especially after I put on skin care products and oils, except a collagen serum seemed to work for me. I’ve never had a problem with my skin before. Does this condition make you sensitive to lots of products and why? If so, my question is can we still put on retinol and all that stuff? Also is this related to mites?
@ChristaEvelyn
@ChristaEvelyn 7 ай бұрын
The inherent issues with the skin barrier makes the answer to your question - yes, skin can be more sensitive to products. I avoid active ingredients like retinol when I am in an active flare and focus instead on getting my skin barrier back to balance. But... I have found that I can use retinol/acids and vitamin c etc. when my skin is in good health. Slow and steady wins the race for my skin. I have done a deep dive on retinol in one of my other videos that you may find helpful too!

Can I use retinoids at the same time using metronidazole? By that I mean apply the retinol and then right after the metronidazole?
@ChristaEvelyn
@ChristaEvelyn 5 ай бұрын
I would check with your doctor/pharmasist on that. They may recommend that you can keep them in your routine, but separate them out (one in AM and one in PM). When I was using metronidazole, I eliminated my active ingredients (including retinol) because my skin was in such bad shape. Once it was back in balance, I reintroduced my active ingredients and stopped using metronidazole. Of course everyone is different, and you may be able to use both in the same routine :). Hope this helps!
