This video is an introduction to my Israel and Palestine series, which I'm very excited to share. In this video, I went to two Christian Arab villages: Tarshiha and Mi'ilya.

Thanks for the video! I am Palestinian Christian but I was born and raised in the states a lot of Palestinian Christian’s came to the Detroit area after leaving the homeland. My parents left in the late 60s they were trying to draft my dad into the Jordanian army shortly before the 67 war so he was lucky enough to get out of there before it all went down. The West Bank was controlled by Jordan at that time so both my parents birth certificates say they were born in Jordan. It’s funny you showed the pork thing my dad told me a story that he was once at lunch with a Muslim friend of his and they had a tray food and when my dads friend asked what it was they said it had pork meat. He said no way I’ll eat that. My dad looked at him and said you smoke drink steal and chase woman all day but pork is the limit for you? LMAO 😂

Can I ask you as a Palestinian Christian why so many of them hate the Israeli government? If I was a Christian, I sure as shit would want an Israeli government with a democracy vs Hamas or Fatah. I understand the nakbah, and some animosity. Such as the Munich Olympic’s leader was a Palestinian Christian (which I never fully grasped). But haven’t times changed where a Christian would rather an Israeli govt, then an Islamic one?

Prior to the 20th century, Christians, Jews and Muslims thrived under what you call Islamic rule. Christians and Jews held high government positions. Were there riots and violence? Sure, but that's just humans being humans and it is everywhere you go... Tarshiha has more muslims than christians living there, only Mi'ilya is predominently christian. There used to be two other christian villages in the Galilee, Iqrit and Kafr Birim, near the border with Lebanon, but they were ethnic cleansed and its inhabitants and decendents are forbidden to return.

Sadly that's not true, most Palestinians simply don't want to accept Israel's existence and want Palestine for them from the river to the sea, in Israel the people who don't want to allow a Palestinian state to exist is growing, I think the current percentage is 50%, it's really easy to just blame the governments but the people need to assume responsibility as well

Have you ever been to Wales? I remember being in a small Welsh village, many years ago now (I'm getting old!) and we wanted to find a place to eat. It was a Sunday and nearly everywhere was closed, except for the pub. Around the entrance, there was a group of old men with banners trying to stop people from going into the pub because, according to them, it should be forbidden to go into a pub on a Sunday (the Christian שבת) These guys were NOT happy that we went in there regardless and they shook their heads sadly when we declined their religious leaflets... I think they might have wanted their village to be exclusive too! As far as I remember, the beach next to their village was called Porth Neigwl, or in English, Hell's Mouth!

Unfortunately, Christian population is decreasing due to Muslim pressure everywhere in the Middle East. Both Israel and especially Palestinian autonomy are not an exception here. Just check the stats in Nazareth ( Israel proper ) and Bethlehem ( PA ). Significant drop in numbers for Christians.

Palestine is not a country, we refer to the regions controlled by the Palestinian Authority as Palestine. As for "Palestinian village", Palestinian is how the Arabs in Palestine or Israel are identifying as, so there are villages in Israel where Israeli Arabs live in, but they also prefer to identify as Palestinian, therefore this is a Palestinian village in Israel.

At least in Germany you guys still have public transportation on Sundays unlike us. Here it’s a bit more extreme, there are even some places you can’t drive your car in on Shabbat
