@@all-caps3927 he raw in his technique and its due to his tip toe stands the way he walks. can see one leg slightly obviously longer than the other the same for Omanyala. hence why that African guy doesn't get more out his feet the longer the races got along. but Thompson main weakness is his first 20 meters he needs too be lower to get more grip power from the ground. Thompson loft the race because Coleman kept lower in his drive phase even thou he is shorter. but Coleman got that power needed to complement his quick start.

Kishane has some work to do. But he has done very well considering he is just coming onto the scene. Coach Franno will definitely get him ready for next year, can't wait.

I want Glen Mills to start training him, he has experience with Yohan and Bolt, no reason why he shouldn’t take Kishane under his belt. He’s very naturally talented and the room for improvement is certainly there. He will be big over the next few years

@kandiekane. He was never slated to run the 200m. You completely made that up. He shut his season down after Zurich and then decided to run Pre because he wanted his own world lead in the 100m and because the price was right.

9.83 seems to be the limit in 2023. 3 men have ran the same time 9.83 which is the world lead Zharnel Huges, Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman. On the women side the 100m level is very high. You saw Elaine Thompson coming 3rd in 10.79

Coleman is a natural 100m runner. Lyles as a natural 200m runner may have the stamina and top end speed but that wouldn't help much if Coleman got a good start and created some distance in-between them.

Lyles and Coleman have been competing against each other at 100m since their U20 year(s). It was pretty even in those years. Since they both turn pro in 2017, Coleman has had the better of Lyles, outside of Shanghai DL in 2019 and this year World Finals. Most of their 100m races are normally close and always within .10s of each or with a small narrow gap.

WC and Olympics suit Lyles as it has Heats, Semis and Final, where most runners are have already ran their best race for the meet before the final, while Lyles keeps maintaining his form and times into the Final. Alternately, one off races like this suit Coleman as he can put everything into one race.

It’s funny how people who don’t watch track forget that Coleman has dominated Lyles in the 100m from the very beginning of their pro careers. Lyles medaled over him in the Junior ranks, and had a few rare victories over him in the pro space. However Christian Coleman has clearly beat Lyles almost every time they have raced as Pro’s.

Finally someone who knows his facts... Most of the guys on YT are either fanboys or just casual fans, that's why. What we've seen yesterday at Eugene is actually the norm... Lyles not often gets a win on Coleman. If Coleman gets a decent start by his standards, it's bye bye Lyles.

Thompson is consistently running 10.85 and he literally just started. His top end speed is out of this world. Injuries free, he will be the man to beat next year.

no, he lost ground over the last half, so top end not that good. he went from 1st/2nd with the start to potentially finishing 4th. Good time overall though.

nope he has the same problem as Coleman great starter but can't maintain his speed good enough. His 60m split was 6.38 the only one who was faster was Coleman with 6.36. So he was right there with Coleman from the start.

@@anitasherriffe9120 nope it wasn't it was the same thing. Coleman had a 60m split of 6.38 and Thompson 6.40 in China. It just looks like Thompson is way behind because he was in lane 10 so the angle makes it seem that way.

I was re-watching the race and it reminded me of most Lyles/Coleman's races really back since 2019... Bottom line is: if Coleman gets a good start, Lyles will never catch him. In Budapest, Coleman didn't get a good start, plus he panicked a little bit and thus he lost.

Coleman's start at Budapest was not his kind of start, he stumbled while coming off the blocks and that was why Noah Lyles could catch him

@@revival-fueltv1942 Best start? In Budapest he clocked 6.42s at the 60m mark, whereas he clocked 6.36s at Eugene, so already 0.06s slower at 60m! From 60m onwards, Coleman was 0.03s slower in Budapest than at Eugene! In Budapest it was a combination of things. Didn't get the best start and he panicked a little bit towards the end. If Coleman gets into sub 6.35s shape like in 2019, Lyles can forget about winning against Coleman.

For a tall guy Thompson’s start is almost unbelievable. For such a tall guy though, he should be finishing the race so much better and I believe he can with some serious hard training. He will cause issues for Coleman and Lyles and even Tobogo

@@martmuru Are you even serious? Or you're just trolling? Yes, Lyles is a strong finisher but he is not record books fast as a finisher, so don't let that fool you. Usain Bolt and Gay were much faster finishers. But, like I said, Lykes is a "poor" starter, just as Coleman is a "poor" finisher. You can't change that. It's always been like that. Go watch Lyles 9.86s back in 2019. Exact same thing happened. His start is 6.4s high and you can't change that. Also, why can't you say the same for Coleman? If Coleman had Lyles' finish, he would be unbeatable...Again, Coleman is not a strong finisher and you can't change that.

Degrasse did run a 9.74 in Eugene 2021 and 9.69s in Stockholm (I believe) 2017 but both times were wind-aided

@@Yes_I_c4n Yep, all the Budapest final needed was +2.0 wind and Lyles would've went 9.73. I actually think the wind hasn't been doing anybody much favours this season, otherwise we would've had a few 9.7's. Seeing a wind above +1.0 was rare this year.

It is hard to get excited about the current sprinters with a 9.8 in this race. Bolt's 9.58 would have had him beat this field by two meters...which is as good as a MILE in the 100 Will there ever be another BOLT ?

having a good start is important but finishing strong is most important example bolt was a horrible starter there were one or 2 times bot lose a race but not much but a strong finisher noah is same situation.
