I love this fragrance and still wear it today. I love that it’s a unique scent. So many fragrances today smell identical, with no character. I receive tons of compliments when I wear this.

Jean Louis was I think the one who started it and then after a couple of denials, Nelja was the one who perfected it. I don’t know about Mr. Ropion.

Definitely worth sniffing! It's one of Dior's most interesting creations.

I think it's discontinued 😕 Love the Homme version of Dune as well. This one I couldn't find at local Dior counter. Bdw do you get Sand dunes vibe?

Dune is still available! And yes I do smell that. That's the whole concept for the perfume 😄

It was created by perfumers Jean-Louis Sieuzac and Maurice Roger.

The nose basically was Jean-Louis Sieuzac, who also created Opium. But fragrances due to marketing non sense are (over) reformulated... Sadly enough. When it was released Dune was a hit with a very good and large range of body products (the cream....) and an alcohol free version, Sun. Unfortunately since may be ten years I just can't stand it anymore.

MY FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH DIOR'S DUNE WAS IN 2004...BY FALLING IN LOVE WITH KINGDOM PERFUME BY ALEXANDER MQUEEN AT HARRODS BOUTIQUE ... ITS A SPICY DUNE....MY SISTER WORE KINGDOM AND WHEN SHE PASSE D AWAY I COULD NEVER FIND KINGDOM AGAIN....I FOUND DUNE A FEW WEEKS AGO ... A TESTER AT A SMALLL SHOP...AND VOILA...I COULD SMELL KINGDOM AGAIN.....I FOUND THE FIRST CHRISTIAN VERSION BATCHES---1994 AND 1995---I SPRAY IT AND IT WAS SOO OVRWHELMNG AND DID NOT SMELL LIKE KINGDOM....THE VINTAGE PERFUMES WERE SEALED AND LEGIT... DUNE WAS REFORMULTED 2 TIMES...SO IN TOTAL WE HAVE 3 VERSIONS...THE FIRST RARE ONE WITH CHRISTIAN DIOR AT THE BOTTOM...TH SECOND IN 2006 WITH CHRISTIAN DIOR IN AN OVAL AND DIOR AT TH BOTTOM...AND LAST REFORMULATION WITH JUST DIOR AT THE BOTTOM.... COULD U PLEASE TELL ME WHICH VERSION SMELLS LIKE KINGDOM THE MOST...THAT IS SPICY? A DRYDOWN THAT LASTS FOR DAYS AND IS LIKE A WAM TONE...CHEERS...XX

I thought this one was great. I enjoyed my vintage epirit de parfum very much. I might grab a bigger bottle together with Miss Dior Originale.
