As someone transitioning into a career in fitness, I really appreciate being able to see how these athletes train and how these fitness professionals approach their training. Thank you so much for sharing this.

This is cool to see! Would love to see more workouts from different phases of his training cycle! Being/staying healthy is the name of the game!

I ❤love McCaffrey. Awesome workouts and training I’ve seen other videos. They really protect their craft It’s inspiring and amazing what they have to do. Ice baths etc. saunas etc. I had scoliosis and had to learn to walk again after a 8 hr surgery at scripps Encinitas. It was brutal surgery. I had a rib removed n used 4 bone graft He is a marvel character just love ❤️ watching him wow.

I been following this. It seems they don't do a lot of serious strength training. More function/mobility training. Makes a lot of sense though. It would be great if they can talk about the training philosophy associated with CMC's training. Maybe they do on another video?

Maintaining > gaining strength and speed. Or they just don’t show because its classified. Answer for you: research day and night and test what works for you to increase your performance or get a good coach. Getting a good coach helps a ton and saves you time and energy researching. May you reach all your goals man🤝‼️

this is an in-season session. it makes sense to do it this way

He said this was a week before training camp. They did a lot of heavy work earlier in the week.

@@proudmisfit4405this was a week before camp. Not in season. It was the end of a heavy week of training is what he said

Putting on muscle is done in the offseason. At the end of the day, volume is king when it comes to gains and in season or in this case right before training camp, you don’t want to put wear and tear on your muscles, you’ll be more vulnerable to injury. In season workouts are all technical/functional to maintain strength, reduce injury and help for recovery.

He does all of this stuff and other movements.

Compared to his 2nd/3rd season when he made his big breakthrough how much faster is he?
@drakeanton20007 ай бұрын
I don’t think he’s much faster but what matters is he isn’t having season ending injuries on a annual basis.

Observe what he is doing, think about why he is doing it, decide whether incorporating some of the principles are right for your training

@@einarjuel yeah um, any principles that I could derive from these videos have no value to me whatsoever.

@@tv26889 have you seen Mr. McCaffrey's performance on the field?
@tv268898 ай бұрын
@@einarjuel Explosiveness, speed and reacting quickly to a visual stimulus(Cutbacks for running backs) have more to do with genetics than anything training related. Doing what he does here won’t make you a pro athlete. You can’t train someone to have a 40 inch vertical and 4.5 40 yard dash.

@@tv26889 im no superfan of this coach (really digging the physiologist though!), but he clearly says this is a session late in the week AND late in the offseason.

This is a bullshit workout. Athlete's should focus on the main compound lifts, these bullshit trendy lifts don't do anything to build skill. Get the athlete strong as fuck, then let the athlete build the skill playing the sport, now with a much stronger and more capable body.
@JDEG1007 ай бұрын
Watch some other videos of him, he performs main lifts as well with a high focus on performance and maintaining quality. It all has to do with whether you are in season or off session.
